Ls2 coil upgrade kit

I gave in and ordered the ls2 coil kit from bennet built. Just wondering how many people have this kit and what they think about it.

Can't speak to the kit itself but having the LS2 coils is definitely nice. The engine starts stupid easy hot or cold, and refires with no hassle. Not sure what that particular kit cost, but I grabbed a used set of coils for $50, spent about $100 and made my own MSD plug wires, and another couple bucks for the plugs to build an adapter harness. Worth every penny.

I wonder why I haven't seen it before?
Is it a new development?
It's cheaper than the BHR.
That's a different looking setup for sure.

If people could stop calling them LS2 coils that would be great. And yeah they have been around a while.

The mounting solution is unique, I will give him credit for that, at least it is not a blatant copy fo the BHR kit like most of the other "kits" (ebay wiring harnesses and Ebay coils slapped on a BHR like bracket).

These coils were never used on an LS2, LS1, etc. so yeah that would be the accurate description.

Huh, thought they were from the ls2. Just looked it up again and see the D585s are just considered LS2 'family'. ( Megasquirt Sequencer Coils for anyone wondering). Good to know. Strictly speaking I believe mine came from an LQ4.

This kit comes with D585 coils. Not D585s. Used in 6.0L truck engines

Yes they were used on various Vortec truck engines (LQ9, L76, etc.)and there are a few variations of the D585. It annoys me because guys hear LS2 coils, and then run off and order coils for an LS2, etc. and get the wrong ****.

But yeah this kits seems alright from afar, I have never seen it person though. I'm not sure who makes the harnesses and to me that is the key component.

I... I meant the s as in plural. D585s is not a part number.

I went to their website and read one of their reviews that said it had "LS2 power".
That's a little exaggerated.

LOL. Ignition power maybe. Their gas cap holder looks like it would be cool at half their listed price. Might have to make my own sometime...

The kit comes with everything you need. Wire adaptor for coil plugs, spark plug wires and a braket to mount right to the old braket where oem coils were mounted.
