AR Looking into getting an 8

I've done a lot of reading up on Rx-8's, mainly because we're too poor atm to actually buy one, and I'm certain its the car that I want. But first I would like to ask actual Rx-8 drivers about the car, and get info from you're personal experience.

How should the car be driven? I've heard that it's best to drive it hard, but also, to not drive it too hard.

Because I'm only 16, *I'm* not buying the car, my parents are buying it for me, but I do have a healthy amount of money in my bank to modify the car further after purchase, what should be the first thing I do to this car (around the $1000 area)? I was thinking about buying a Borla exhaust for it first, and then seeing what would be best from there. What do you guys reccomend?

Also, If theres anything important I need to know about the car that the average person can't learn from reading up on it, please tell me, I would like to do my best to keep the car in tip top condition when I do get it!

Thanks

dont buy a borla exhaust.

buy an accessport and a midpipe. together you'll get the biggest whp gain for the money. maybe 20whp. 10 each. and the midpipe will make the car sound better too.

The one I was looking at was 05 model, but in good condition, only about 31k miles on it, whats wrong with them before 06?

Thanks! (I'm car retarded btw lol )

Btw, What brand midpipe do you prefer?

I like the low rumble sound of the borla exhaust, not a big fan of the loud obnoxious exhausts.

nothing is wrong with 2005 models, volcom just bought an auto-tragic that has issues so that's probably why he mentioned it.

I have a 2005 with 62,000+ miles and I've loved every minute of the experience.
