Little details possibly missed by body shop...
Being my first thread, please forgive me if this is in the wrong place.
I just got my car back from the shop after the roof blew off and scratched every panel. The fix was an entire car repair painting. I have a few questionable areas that I'd like verified by rx8 owners. Mine is 2006 basic model, black.
1. Window area on rear doors. If you open your window and feel in, is it a smooth finish or rough finish?
2. Edges of doors rough, guessing that's where paint lines met. Any ideas how to smooth out?
3. Under trunk, below rear window. Is this a polished area as well?
4. Gas cap I know wasn't rough.
5. Inside gas area toward front of car. In the recession there, rough or smooth? Thinking rough.
That seems like all so far. Thanks to you all in advance!

Are you talking about the paint finish on your car after it has been repainted? If you have any sort of roughness to the touch sounds to me like over spray. You may need to take it back to the body shop and have them buff it out. If done professionally you should not have any rough areas in your paint.

It should be smooth finish.

Sand and polish?
3. Under trunk, below rear window. Is this a polished area as well?
That should be just base coat, no clearcoat.
4. Gas cap I know wasn't rough.

Inside gas cap should be clearcoated.
It should be smooth finish.

Thanks jason! Exactly what I was looking for! Time to tell them to fix the paint... And aim my headlights... And check a foglight that was working before they had it.
As an explanation of what happened to my car, the pictures say it all. My family and I went out of the country for a week to visit relatives. Since I normally park on the street, I decided to leave my car at their place. That came around and bit me... I should've parked it on the street...
Turns out a microburst of 115mph tore the metal roof off the garage, folded it over their camper, and onto my car. It flapped, scratched all panels on my car, broke the driver mirror cover, scratched the headlights, one taillight, and some trim. It also dented the driver side windshield pillar, but managed to miss damaging all windows.
Yeah, I know it's ugly. The new paint looks great, but I don't yet have a pic. So far there were only those questionable areas, and one small section where it looks like they peeled the masking tape a little too soon, bringing a little paint with and causing a little flaking.

Have another addition... just checked my headlights after aiming them. I'm thinking the left is iffy at least. The old ones were quite flat on the cutoff, the new one is bowled, with the left edge shooting 25 feet in the air at roughly 50 feet, and only 2 or so seconds in front of me at 40mph, with the right light at roughly 4 or 5 seconds at 40, and flat throughout its beam width.
Question is: Is this any bit adjustable without taking the assembly apart? I'm figuring no, and if confirmed, I'll have the body shop replace it under warrantee. Pictures attached.
First is Driver side only. Second is Passenger side only. Third is both, as well as 4th.
I've already swept the lights up and down to see if that makes a difference, and it hasn't. The light remains bowled at all angles *sigh*.
