Where are the pic's?
So, your buddys modify an engine (210 to the wheels), it blows the timing chain, they still keep turning it over, and they expect Honda to fix it for free? Yeah, keep hanging out with these people.

Among those of us without problems, we do have to spend more effort taking care of them to keep it that way.

Today as i was leaving the dealership; some guy with an older red RX7 go into his car as i was getting into my RX8, we were both trying to get out of the lot and when we past each other we both looked at each other and nodded.

That's whats cool about Mazda owners, everyone I've met has an awesome respect for their cars and the people who drive them.

I flash my light or nod at any other Rx or mazda vehicle out there... a lot of the rx8 people dont usually acknowledge you but most rx7 guys do..

I believe most rx7 owners are still in the closet.. most of them dont know anyting about the rx7 and bash on it because its not faster than the last rx7 model.. Im sure most rx8 owner wont like the next RX vehicle if one ever comes out.

that's because the rx8 was aimed a wider demographic than the rx7.. mazda wanted to sell more cars. the rx7s were uncompromised performance machines, so if you don't know much about it, you'll hate it.

there are some rx8 owners near my place that don't even know what a rotary engine is.. it makes me sad

Yeah most people dont know what the heck vtec does. I also was not aware of how much oil those motors burn... my buddy said he has to constantly check the oil especially if he keeps going into vtec. It still amazes me that people are still scared of checking the oil on a rotary engine.. It isnt gonna bite!.. Much! hehe

^ it does bit in the series 1 engine with the dipstick being in such a tight space, anyhow i use to own a civic before i got the 8. I got out of the "honda game" because the community was so annoying. Nothing but teenagers that though they could take on the work just because they have vtec, 17 inch wheels, fog light and a 4 inch exhaust with a 2 inch midpip with headers!

Oh hell yea don't let anyone fool you. I had a accord with a JDM h22a swap, and that engine burned a lot of oil. I guess completely new its normal for them to burn 1 quart per 3000 miles. Mine burned a lot more then that (I also shifted above 7 grand a lot).
