hi can any body help, i have just bought a universal 4 wire sensor but the wires are different colours? the wires on the car are red, red/white, yellow and brown but the wires on the sensor is black, two grey and one white. does any body know what wires go where

 

If I were to guess from a small electrical background, I would say
red- hot
brown - ground
yellow and red/white - signal

and

black - ground
white - hot
grey - signal

but that is just a guess
