Kids are so cute.

Yesterday around 9 am a Mother and her 2 kids ( 1 girl and the other a boy around 10 or 11) parked next to my car to go to the chiropractor office next door to mine. Well, once the little kid got out of the car.. he just stood there with his mouth wide open like this and just extended his arms with amazement.

He ran his fingers across my car and looked inside.. I didnt mind him touching the car cause it needs washing anyway.. So I just stood in my office drinking coffee and was just laughing to myself. It was a cute kid, I wanted to go outside and let him look at the interior but his mom told him to not touch other peoples property lol.

Oh and by the way the picture on my sig is at my office parking lot.

My son (8) hates it, begs to not have to ride in "dad's car". He doesn't like not being able to see out and having to keep is feet down.

I don't really have kids.. but here's a cute kid story..

when I first got my car.. my goddaughter was 23 months old. She could talk in full sentances and had been potty trained for over a month. She begged me to let her drive the car.. so I let her stand in the front seat and "steer" while parked in the driveway.. no key in the ignition..

Just then , she decides she needed to pee, but she wasn't wearing a diaper ,because she was supposed to be potty trained!!

Atleast the seats drain very well, and I had scotch guarded my carpets and mats!

I've got a good one!

About 6 months ago we went to HomeDepot. I let my family out at the front door and heard this high pitched ooooooh. A teenage guy, standing by the door, was freaking out over my car. I let him get in and sit in the passenger seat. We all watched as he ran his hands over the center console and dash area telling us how he just was wild over these cars. It was almost like worship or something. Wow.

I have had alot of other sports cars in the past and this one is the first one that I get a big reaction out of people. All ages are always commenting on the car. I love this car!

I stopped in a gas station to check my tires (Dealer put 30PSI in and the pressure gauge kept going off). I see this guy pull up in a Monte Carlo and just stare at it. He gets out REAL slow and stares at the car. He looks at me and says, "Is that the '8?". I smile back with a simple yes. Then he says, "This may sound dumb, but can you open the doors for me?"

I just had to comply. Who wouldn't. You'd think the guy had never seen a Saturn in his life. It has to have something to do with the RX8 that makes the doors something special.

Oh, that and I nailed a date with a neighbor girl who "had to fill the washer fluid in her car" when I was out looking over my new purchase. (it was 85 degrees, and there was no call for rain :P )

I've only had it for about 2 weeks. I have a feeling these won't be the last stories I have.

My son is also a member of the RX-8 fan club, at 2 years old. Our morning commute is full of "Weeee" and "Wow" and "zoom zoom". He's even started leaning into turns and laughing when I accel out of them.

Between that, and my girlfriend's son (also 2) who says "car car carcarcar" whenever he sees my 8, I think its a hit for the young ones.

Cute story.
Got to give "kudos" to the mother for telling her kid "not to touch". :D

Not that I'd want to tell a kid not to touch the car,but... running a finger along the body of a dirty car is waaay worse than doing the same to a clean car - on a dirty car the finger will be scraping all of that abrasive dirt along the body panels as it goes across the surface of the car. Ugh.

The teenagers in my youth group at church say I'm not cool enough to have this car.

Well, if you can't be cool, buy cool!!!

heh - when I came home the first time with my brand spanking new car, my 4 yr old son saw it, his mouth dropped and he shouted "DADDY!!!! YOU BOUGHT A POWER RANGERS CAR!!!!"

Now mommy's car is "slow", "ugly", "smelly" and "silly" (she drives a peugot 206) and my car is "super fast", "cool", "the best" and "a super car". :-)

on the other hand, he made me promise him that if he is "a good boy until he becomes a big boy, I buy him this car, but a faster one" - sure caught on quick,........

The other day I was leaving my friend's house. When I pulled out of his cul-de-sac there were some kids skateboarding. They all stopped what they were doing and bowed down to me doing the "we're not worthy" pose from Wayne's World. That made my day. Most adults don't even look at the car.

It is cute when a kid is impressed by a car. .Keep in mind that if you rub a dirty car you will get spider web scratches in the paint. I hate people touching my car but I'd never yell at a kid for doing it .. Just grin and bear it.

I stopped at a gas station in Walnut, Mississippi (population maybe 300 ?). Came out after grabbing something to eat and drink - 3 guys standing next to the car staring - mouths open. I said "hi" - no acknowledgement - they just couldn't stop staring at the 8. So I had to do it...just couldn't resist. I opened up the driver's door and then, yup....the other door to throw something in the back seat. Closed both doors and drove off - leaving them with their jaws on the ground. Just waaaayyyy toooo cool.

no offense, but some of you guys are so full of yourself. "Stop what they're doing and look at my car." Maybe its the area you guys live in, but in SoCal our cars are a dime a dozen and I personally never had the 'stop what they're doing' effect. You never know what they are really thinking when they are looking at your car.
