Hey there, I just recieved a RX8 keyless entry unit I purchased on Ebay last week, It came with programming instructions. I followed them verbatum and it still wouldnt program to the car. It went something like this:
-Open door
-unlock then lock
-insert key in ignition and turn to accessary position 3 times
-Open/close door 3 times
-press any keyless entry botton twice
-remove key from igntion to get a comfirmation siries of door locks from the car.
I do all this and get the comfirmation locks from the car but the keyless still dosnt work, i replaced the battery in it as well. Anyone might know whats wrong?
And both the car and keyless are 2004

 

Make sure your trunk and hood are fully closed and then try the remote. Also follow the instructions in the DIY. That procedure DOES work if you do it correctly, so try it again.
