Hey all so I just bought a new 8 and I'm wondering if my 2005 8 has keyless entry on stock along with a spare..does anyone know..I'm a little nervous that someone might have a key to my new car..plz help me out here..and if it does any ideas what I can do to change all that so I'm the only one with a key

 

You might get lucky and be able to call a dealer with your VIN and see if your car came with keyless entry. On my last car you could tell by removing the rear deck and looking for the receiver, not sure for the 8.

I wouldn't worry so much about the previous owner still having a spare key, I kept a key to every car I've owned. And scarey enough I know exactly where my last car now parks, I have no intentions of ever breaking into it, I was more amazed it was still running!

 

I have a 2005 with a keyless entry, but I still have the key if the remote didn't work to open the door. Not sure if the previous owner has a spare. It's been 5 years since I bought the car.

 

You can get away with getting a flip key off eBay for like $30ish instead of buying a separate key and remote.
