Key light blinking on dash panel

The key light Icon on the dash keeps blinking even though the alarm isn't set. It goes off when I start the motor. Any thoughts appreciated. Mark.

Cool Key light....

Any time the ignition is off, the 'anti-theft' (key chip) system is on.

Does that mean the light will keep blinking?

Thanks for this quick thread! Just the other day I just noticed my "key" light blinking after turning off the ignition. I was going to mention it to the dealership when I went in for service next week, but you saved me from looking like an idiot!
