k&n intake vs aem intake
i'm looking to put a cold air intake system on my 05 rx8, but i can't decide which one. a friend of mine has used k&n on multiple cars and says they work great (he also said that aem doesn't work as well in ohio weather?). but i looked at one test result online and it said that aem gives more horsepower. disregarding price, which do you think is better and why?
edit: my apologies for not using the search bar. there might be a thread out there like this already

a **** tonne of threads on the topic
Here is one of my favorites
https://www.rx8club.com/canada-forum-35/any-you-aem-cai-209356/
And being from Ontario the weather is likely to be similar
BTW
Don't you eve dare buy a K&N intake for the Rx8 ... both versions are crap. You're better off with a K&N drop in panel filter

with all due respect i need some reasons for either one. just a heads up i live in ohio and i will be driving it in snowy weather. if this somehow will hurt either intake, then let me know.

unless the CAI was the cause of engine failure then you would still be covered if you have a non mazda speed part, but yes its worth going for the Mazdas peed CAI over the AEM since they are both the same and you get warranty.. with Mazda.I have the Speed CAI, on very rainy days I had water being sucked in, but kept it under 5000rpm and i was fine, drive through car wash, I just get in and shut off my motor and let my car get washed and i turn it back on again. Good luck with your purchase

O' Let's do it.

aem or racing beat, thats it, k&n sucks in hot air, and since most people over oil their k&n fitlers, resulting in a dirty maf.
i had these intakes in this order on my rx8
!) k&n drop in stock airbox without the walls
2) k&n version 2 super loud
3) i had the racing beat intake one of my favorites.
4) i had the aem a true cold air intake, it was a lil loud too but not obnoxious.
so yeah either rb or aem is the way to go
