just traded in MS6 for RX-8

hey guys, new owner here. traded in my 2006 mazdaspeed 6 for a 2009 R3 (took advantage of that 5k rebate).

The plan was never to get an 8, rather to keep my 6 for a long time and get another 7 at a later date, but it just so worked out when I went in to test drive a speed3 with my brother... Getting behind the wheel of a car that is low to the ground, light, and balanced, with excellent handling brings back a smile to my face. Not that there was anything wrong with the speed6, just it was a sports sedan, and this is a sports car.

I'll miss the torque, I'll miss the turbo... but I can always add those at a later date. But having a low, light, balanced car is like having a tall guy in basketball. It's one of those things you can't teach, train or add on.

Obligatory pics -

it's a... welcome back, not a welcome. I've been a rotary nut for years dating back to the rx7club forums before the turn of the century, haha.

it's good to be back.

hey - are you getting a cel w/ that midpipe??

i'm starting to look into exhaust options, and something i want to stay away from is the CEL. i'm looking at the RB headers and catback, though i was thinking of keeping the cats in place, or replacing with hi-flows if it'll keep a CEL from popping up...

Hey congrats and welcome back

Well you can get a catless midpipe, but it'll show a CEL, So in the future if you plan to get your car tuned, I recommend the Accessport from Mazdamaniac. At your request, he can also turn off the CEL, but the Accessport is a bit expensive But worth every penny imo.

is the AP available for the 2009's? i heard something about it being slightly different, and that the AP wasn't available, and was only in development right now...?
