Just took the plunge...

Filled out all the paperwork today and should take delivery Tues or Wed on a Red GT, w/accents, strakes and grill trim. Went to the Auto Show yesterday and couldn't find anything better...

Congrats! MT or AT? And when you said grill trim, is it the shiny lip on the top of the front grill? Appearance Package? Which dealer?

Grill trim? That's a very rare option. (It goes all the way around the grill. See page 3 of http://accessories.mazdausa.com/acce...ryBrochure.pdf ) You must post pix when you can, ok?

So, congrats!

Just as I thought! I really didn't like the grill trim ring, plus you can't have the front air dam if you have the grill trim ring. That answers my question whether you have the appearance package. Should've realized earlier.

Hehe. You know, I just now noticed, that pic of the grill trim shows the front air dam of the appearance package! The rotary emblem & the shelf below it is red, not black. (Only the front air dam is red in those areas. Stock is black.) I never could understand why the 2 options were not compatible...

MT. Red/Black Interior. It is a black ring with a chrome lip on top. I didn't order it, it just happened to be on the car I liked. Although since I'm in NJ and have to use a front plate, it does help with the appearance of the plate. No appearance package. Maxon Mazda in Union, NJ.
