Just recently got my RX8... and loving it!

I have been looking for a new car (by new, I mean used, haha) for a long time, and finally decided on the RX-8.
Found an '06 with 33k miles for 16k and went for it.
Its the Galaxy Gray Mica, and I am pretty sure its the most basic model (no leather seats, I don't think it has a 6cd changer, no homelink etc).

Anyway, as far as additions to the car, I really want to change out the speakers, and add 1 or 2 subwoofers in the trunk. I was looking at custom boxes, and the ones that really got my attention are the boxes that hold 1 sub and sit in the left and right of the trunk. They look awesome, and I would still like to have trunk access from the back seat.

I also want to get underglow, not sure on LED or neon yet, but I was thinking LED.

But that's all that I can think of so far. I don't really want to do any performance or high cost work at the moment as I am a student. But I am open to suggestions!

Oh and I got the manual version. After driving auto for so long I wanted a stick shift again. Plus when I drive automatic, I feel bored... haha!

Well, here are 2 pics (I will try and get more later):

first suggestion... do NOT do underglow... neon lighting should only be reserved for the most extreme show cars, and a stock rx8 is NOT in that category

Nice ride! I've only had mine for about a month. I kinda have the same feelings toward underglow as RickA, but it's your car you should do it up however you like.
I reccomend window tint, adding a sub with a box like the one you mentioned, and adding the aero kit, cuz.......well that's what my immediate plans are. Then comes a drop and rims.

Honestly I was kinda hoping someone would tell me not to do neon. I was helping my brother and his friend install a neon kit on his friend's truck and thought to myself how awesome it would look on my 8, but I think I might wait a while before doing that.

What is an Aero kit?

I have been reading through the forums a bit, but quite honestly some of the lingo here goes right over my head.

Like AP... what is that?

Anyway, glad to be part of the club! I seriously wake up everyday and try and find a way to get on the road... never had that urge before

Also, is there any special way I should drive the 8? I know how to drive stick, but I figure with the rotary, there is probably some difference to driving styles.

Aero Kit is what's inside my sig.

AP commonly refers to "Access Port".

My one tip is that getting the engine up high close to redline is healthy for the engine, but make sure you avoid revving it that high until it's up to operating temperature

+1 to tint, clear corners is another cheap visual upgrade that would not be a bad idea. (ps, i think underglow is too ricey)
