Just Got My RX-8!
I picked up a 2004 black with black cloth interior, manual tranny, sport package and rear spoiler, accent package and appearance package, with 19,000 miles on it for $22,500 and I absolutely---LOVE IT!!! I have had a permanent smile on my face and I could have sworn my 5-month old boy in the back was smiling the entire time he rode in it as well?!?! We picked it up in North Carolina up in the Blue Ridge/Smoky Mountains and drove it back to Atlanta (3+ hour trip) and let me just say, the drive down was simply incredible. I am 35 years old and have been driving a full-size sedan (BMW 740i) for the last few years and this car is like a breath of fresh mountain air!
For those finding the price of a new RX-8 hard to swallow, I HIGHLY suggest checking out autotrader.com and doing a search on 2004s in your area. You still will have about 3 years of a warranty left and the typical RX-8 owner will have taken good care of the vehicle. The best part is I could put it through it's paces right away since the break-in period was already done! Mine is virtually brand new and I cannot tell the difference between this and the ones off the showroom floor I looked at. I'm surprised that the tires still have loads of tread on them after 19,000 miles too.
I guess it's better to post my questions on this vehicle in new threads but I just wanted to share my overwhelming joy and a big hearty THANK YOU to the info I have gotten from this board!
