If you are trying to gain hp, skip the intake and exhuast, as adding those will give you single digit hp. The stock air box and exhaust are quite good.
Instead buy a Racing beat ram air intake to make the air intake a COLD air intake, not an engine compartment temp air intake.
Next buy a Cobb AP with a Mazda Maniac tune.
Spend the extra three hundred and have a little fun.

That being said if you are out to change the sound notes of your car, then look around and see which ones sound the best to you.

Hey the Cobb AP sounds pretty interesting...but the website doesn't provide any data like expected HP/Torque gains, etc.

Anyone have this system and any details on that? You would think at $600.00 they would want to give you a little information first...

Really? Guess I know what I'm getting for my birthday then... Excellent.

Does it help much with the low torque problem?

LOL, not really, you won't get much help with that unless you go FI.

He was joking with you about the AP tune.

3. Hiflow or catless midpipe

4. Radiator & oil cooler screens

5. Catch can if you're an 04 or 05

Everything else except a turbo, nitrous, or supercharger is just bling

Hmm guess you could count pulleys too... Thought we were focusing on must haves though... While not quantified I do believe all bets are off stock cat once you get a nice clean AFR tune.

It is interesting that all my 8s best mods came from Arizona...

Thought of something else useful mod wise... Racing brake drilled/slotted rotors and some hawk ceramic pads

1.Yukon coil setup - so you don't have to keep replacing the stock coils.
2.Midpipe - Your cat will eventually clog up, just like mine. Possibly can cause engine damage if it does.

Stock airbox and exhaust are kosher. Pull the airbox out and clean any oil out of the intake tract (if there is any) and clean your throttle body and maf sensor. Maybe get a catch can to prevent oil from getting there again. Thats just the beginning of stuff to do. Search and you will learn! Good luck with the new ride
