Jus got ny Rx8 ! 12-01

Hi guys! I've been a member for months hoping to get an 8. I finally got an

04 AT Titanium 26k miles. Touring. I know many of you won't like this because I can probably search but, would you all give me any recommendations for my car? Esp for the oil, flooding, and anything else. I live in PA so I plan on buying Blizzek snow tires ASAP. Please help me out though. Thanks!

Congrats!

To help me remember, I check my oil every 500 miles; so at 7000, 7500, 8000, etc. Carry an extra bottle or two of 5w-20 in your trunk.

Don't shut it down cold. If you have to shut it down after it running for only a few minutes rev to 3000 for 10 seconds.

Don't be afraid to rev the motor.

Congrats! I just got mine on Tuesday night and I'm in Northern Maryland, so I'm looking into the Blizzak snow tires, too.

Consider the Contiwinter 810, the Bstone LM-25, and the wintersport M3 or D3. These are performance winters which will be close in performance on snow and slush but much better in the dry than the WS-50's.

the michelin pilot alpins are very good too, but a little more spendy.

Well, from full to low on the dipstick is roughly two quarts. So you will have to gauge by the position on the dipstick. Add some and then check it again. Repeat if necessary.

Congratulations on the new ride.

Dunlop M3 Winter sports are highly recommended over here in Minnesota.

Oh and be careful not to hook the front seat belts to the rear seat belt clasp.

Watch out for the know-it-alls. Most of them are legends in their own minds.

Congrats on joining the 8 crowd. 20 years ago the only thing that compared was a $70,000 Porsche 928. Except that car was excriutiatingly expensive to maintain.

Congrats!

But an automatic? You could have gotten a decent increase in horsepower if you went with the manual....

Still, welcome to the club. I agree with the comment on Dunlop M3 winter tires. The 8 on stock tires in freezing conditions is one of the worst handling cars IMO. You will need to upgrade the tires.
