The latest member of my auto family is a Salsa Red 2006 Jetta GLI, with DSG transmission (supposedly my wife's car, but we know better!). Anyway, it presents an interesting contrast to my RX-8, with lots of low end torque (and no turbo lag). Reviews and opinions will follow after 500 miles. Pictures much sooner.

The DSG, which can be used manually or as automatic, is actually quicker than the manual to 60 and the quarter mile. With chip, exhaust and intake, I'm told you can get close to 300 hp at the wheels.

I bought the car with "package 2" which includes heavily bolstered sport seats, said to be the European GTI seats.

 

let me know what you think of the DSG tranny, i've heard nothing but good things.

 

then let us know how much it costs to fix when it inevitably breaks lol
