Japanese parts in America?

I havnt done any huge amounts of research on this topic, but I've just kinda been looking around and I'm just getting curious.

It seems like there's a lot of nice parts being sold there that just arent seen here in the States. Is there not a big enough market to ship them over here? or do some just not pass street legalities? I thought maybe there might not be enough people that understand japanese enough to start selling parts here.
Any Info is much appreciated

not enough interest in the US to get stuff over here. people end up either staying stock or going with something sold in here.

i think hes referring to the aftermarket community in japan, especially the notable rotary tuners. sure we can get some feed, RE stuff, but shipping from japan takes so long and is costly.

not to mention we don't get any of the really really good stuff like their modified ECUs!

Yeah, I mean aftermarket parts. But if I remember correctly, Hymee is based in Australia and that's pretty much same distance yet plenty of their stuff is sold here... I figured if the parts in japan are so good, they would be wanted over here too

I dont know anything specific really but I saw a video of an 8 with some exhaust which doesn't seem to be offered in America and it sounds like a pretty nice system. Also showed a video of an intake which I havnt seen before.

There are plenty of forum vendors that will get you what you need. The downside is the wait time.

My japanese sucks, so i wasn't really able to be sure this guy was telling the truth, but i ran into a gigalo in kabuki-cho shinjuku(tokyo, japan) who had a pearl white rx8 that had a reverse cam and parking sensors...and he said that they were OEM...i think he said that :-P Their integration was perfect, so i tend to trust they were...

I'd like those!

Reverse Camera

ME too. I'd like an OEM reverse camera. Anybody know where you can order one?
