TN Its gone

I was traveling to work on Interstate 24 and hydroplaned off in to the ditch and flipped. I was doing about 75-80 (way to fast in the rain I know) And hit a puddle. I had perfectly fine tires but that made no difference. I came out of this without a scratch on me. All I can say is thank GOD, Seat belts (because if I had not had it on I would been flipping around in this thing like a rag doll) and small trees that kept me from smashing in to the rock wall.

Goddamn, that's rough. I'm glad you're okay, and hope that you get to have another rotary vehicle again someday.

Glad you survived that... nasty crash. Good job wearing a seatbelt and you can always replace metal and plastic... flesh and bone is harder.

Glad you're ok. Don't fret over the car, its material. Good thing RX8's have a 5-star roll over rating

Plans for next ride? Speed3? Wait around for the new rotary car? Keep us posted.

All very true thanks. I dont have any plans right now as far as a new car goes. I drive 45 min. to and 45 min. from work each day so I may look to something a lil more fuel efficient. . . I looked online all day today at different cars and I just felt so pissed because none of them have "it all" like the 8 did. . . I am still waiting on the insurance to call me back to find out how much and HOPE they pay the car off.

Looks totalled. RX8's go for ~$14-15K these days. The new Speed3 looks a lot cooler and gets 26ish mpg. Or if you were into the whole boyracer thing the new SS Cobalt gets 30 mpg with 265 bhp. Its FWD but it has beaten an Evo X around a 2 mile track and it could come in handy when driving in bad weather

You are lucky to be alive!

This reminds me of the person that started a thread not to long ago wanting to know which tires to buy so he could drive 90 mph in the rain

Amazing your OK!!!
That looks like it was quite a ride!!!

Ummmmm - is it me or do the tires on the car in the photos look a bit bald??

post a high rez- link if you can ... Thanks.

The '8 is a fairly light car w/ a lot of swept area. Not great at high speeds in lots of rain. ... Very dependent on tires.

It's the only time I have to admit defeat and just slow down a bit.

you are going to call him out on tires and then ask for higher-res pics?

im going to say those were cell phone pics and are at max res. also, that his tires were fine.

I know!!! I felt bad about it ... but hey- I swear I don't see much tread in the center(s) of the tires !!!

probably just the pics ... but who knows.

"perfectly fine" can also mean "not totally crap"
