Question Interior sound level (i.e., road noise)?

Does anyone know where to find the interior noise levels for the 8 (and other cars)? I've searched the forums and internet in general and cannot find anything. Do any of the car reviewers/magazines still post numbers for idle, max. accelleration, and cruising at 60?

I've been lurking and reading for a while and I'm sure the 8 will be more than quiet enough but I'm just looking to quantify it.

Try Road & Track

Road & Track includes interior noise in dBA.

I have very sensitive hearing and I find the RX-8 subjectively quiet, especially for a sports car. Of course, nowhere as quiet as a Camry, Lexus or other sedan. I paid attention to the dB number before I bought my RX: the RX had one of the quietest cabins among small sports cars. If I recall correctly, the G35 was a tad quieter and the Z-350 was a bit noiser.

The RX-8 puts out a raspy sound during acceleration, as a sports car should, but it's quiet during cruise especially on asphalt. A quiet cruise is important on long rides.

When I have new speakers and a subwoofer installed I might have extra sound insulation like dynamat applied.

Sounds good

All I can say from the drives I've taken thus far...the sounds are GR8!

Driving on long road trips, the interior noise is minimal. And no air leaks or tire noise either!

I've noticed the Bridgestones get louder with miles.
