Interested in possibly getting an RX8
So I have been looking at cars that I might be interested in buying as I may be looking to replace my '95 Camaro that I have had since '96.
The RX8 is one of the cars I am looking at but I have a few questions.
I have read many reviews from the magazines and websites but I am curious about the thoughts from actual owners.
What are the plusses and minuses of owning an RX8?
Thanks for any help you may be able to give regarding this.

the minus for me is all the attention i get from it lol its such a beautiful car lol
but in all honesty, the power is lacking especially going from a camaro, depending on which one you have, but other than that its amazing, and plus being different from everyone else is nice to having a rotary, lol the sound the engine makes is sex. he hear the rotors spooling oh man its great lol
you'll def be happy with your purchase, i know i was

The main advantage of the RX-8 is that it is truly a practical sports car. Think of it as a sports car with a king cab and a useful trunk. It's as practical as a compact while being as fun as a roadster.
The main disadvantage is bad gas mileage and a small tank, so you get about a 200 mile range.
It could use more power, but it's really not nearly as slow as some people make out. It can scoot, and it's loads of fun to drive. The rotary engine revs smooth and high all day long and the handling can't be beat in this price range unless you're looking at roadsters.
Overall, it's a great car that is comfortable and practical enough to drive as your main car, while being so fun that it's like taking an amusement park ride to work every day.

pros:fastest torquey engine 1/4 mile you ever seen, excellent fuel & oil efficiency, premixing required, synthetic is mandatory, manual is clear concise and noncontroversial
cons: NO handling, limiting seating & cargo space, can't use dino oil, no idemitsu premix, women hate it, most expense sports car on the market
oh, I forgot rx8 forums are easy to decipher with no sarcasm involved especially with the no FLAMING policy.
Hope that clears it up for you.

Pretty much what volcom said. If you're interested in a car that's fast, get a 370Z, or something. The 8 will not throw you back into your seat. But, if you have money to spend you can make the 8 into a fairly nice beast.
I like the whole entire non-conformity factor I get from my 8, I love her and her rotary heart!

The RX8 is a car that is fast with one that has nimble feet. Don't get discouraged it's a car that will put a smile on your face and if the power is not what you'd want, turbo kits are available that will turn that smile into a cheek to cheek grin.
Plusses, SUSPENSION-handles like a dream, good aftermarket support, we've got a good forum to come to
Minuses: fuel/oil consumption (equal to 350z or equivalent fuel consumption), automatics are tuned down to 7000ish rpm redline (can be modified with tuning)
