i would go AEM, i have absolutely no knowledge as to the benefits of each one.

I just notice the aem seems a bit more reputable to me.

^ haha good answer.

the aem is proven to add power, the kn v2 is proven to lose power. at least if you can trust the dynos/reports online.

i just know the aem/mazdaspeed sounds cool.

If your rx8 is completely stock chances are that you could spend that money elsewhere to do some needed maintenance probably overlooked by the previous owner

^ don't forget to start a new thread to ask about maintenance.

Seriously though, an intake won't really do anything but make noise for you. Spend the money elsewhere and do some research. This topic and many others have been covered and there is a wealth of great info here. Also, if you decide to purchase, check with the vendors here on the forum. They have great pricing and are very reputable and helpfull.

Congrats on the car and enjoy it! Welcome to the addiction.

As most say here Mazda did a very good job on the intake and you would do best to keep the OEM and check your filter. How many miles etc....give us the history as you know it. Maintenance and the manual are a must.
