Information Display Turning to Lines

Was messing with my 04 Touring the other day and the information display started flickering between a set of lines and working properly. It keeps doing that and while doing so the radio seemed to continue to work as did everything else that is displayed in the small screen. Was wondering if anyone had any experience with this same issue and if it was possibly failing solder joints on the board for the display screen or an issue they found elsewhere. Here are a couple pics of the information display:

define "messing with"

its probably just the classic loose connection on the back side, you'll need to slide the radio and top display out

The engine is toast so I hooked the battery up and operated all electronic components, lights, lights, wipers, windows, sunroof etc to ensure they stay operational. And I let my youngest daughter play in the car and act like she was driving and shifting the gears. She loves that
