I started to look tonight, but it seems that they're sold out.

I just can't find a car that's as perfectly suited for me as the 8, and many of you know I've test driven many vehicles over the last 20 months or so.

If I am able to find a new 8 (preferably in blue or black), I plan on selling my current 8 (which has been trouble free and very well maintained-- not even a fender bender) to my 17 year old nephew, for an extremely low price on a payment plan (I'm talking 50% of NADA black book; he'd pay me $125 per month @ 0% interest for 48 months & my 8 has 56k miles on it and looks brand new), on the condition he maintains his current job, while maintaining a 3.5 or better GPA (he's a high school senior).

His parents have had a rough couple past years economically, but refuse to let me give him the car, which is probably for the better anyways.

I really want to do this, but won't commit to it unless I can find a new 8 to replace mine, since I fear I'll never find another new car that I like as much at anywhere near the price.

dunno where you live but if you wanna drive to canada i was stunned to find this one with 1700 miles on it. Its pretty far though but wow its a 2010 for 20k with 1700 miles!!!! Holy crap! I bought my 2004 3 years ago for that price!

I just called on this car, it is still available. It is a used car. Apparently it was traded in by a "collector".

Sucks it's considered a used car, but likely the final price will be a little better than if it were a new demo.

Wish I could swing it....

What's the cheapest someone has seen a new leftover R3 sell for as of the last 6mos or so?

 

Welcome to Capitalist American society: buying things that we don't really need.

I think you are going to be incredibly generous with your 17y/o nephew. But if his parents are struggling right now financially, what good are you really doing to that kid by handing him a Sports car like the RX8? What happens with high school kids driving Honda Civics and Toyota Corollas? Good grief, people are too spoiled these days.

Having said that, LOL, there are a couple of used 8s out there. But if they sell as used like the red R3, you might still be able to get a decent interest rate on a loan - if you need to finance.

Sometimes the differences in interest rates between buying new and used are significant though, but can't hurt to try.

 

You really need to search very hard to find a "new" rx8 in the continental U.S., good luck buddy.
