I didn't think people whould make some rude comments on my car. I was a bit pissed off but it didn't bother me that much. I only whent because my friend wanted to show off my car, while others loved my 8, others talk **** about it as well. I'm not gonna say that we're any better because some of the 8 owners do the same at car meets as well. I just don't get people sometimes, I love cars and don't trash talk because someone will always have a better ride. They said my car sounded like scooter when I let my friend take it around some corners reving to 8K rpms. I guess sometimes these people don't think. My car still makes more power then his, even with all them mods he did, and i'm sure I can take him out in the corners. My friend on the other hand has a Acura CL swap on his accord and he's makeing way more power then I am. Today we just proved that, and he admits that my car hadles way better then his in cornering. I was going into turns with no problem while his rear started to swing out. All and all I'm not saying my car's better. I just feel a bit sad that I coulden't go to a meet to enjoy talking about cars to others like I usually do. I guess we have more mature people behind the wheel of our cars then the accrod guys do.

Some poeple on this site are pretty sh!tty too and rude as... Well you get my point. But This is why I dont go to car meets. I dont take **** from no one. I was not put on this earth for your pleasure. Jealous or not I was raised: keep your mouth shut or get teeth knocked out. Point being if you dont have any thing nice to say, dont say it. Jealousy! btw Accords aren't sports cars, did you remind them of that? They're great cars, and honda is very reputable, but I don't think it was meant to be a sports car. Remember you have a sports car, and a sports car with a rotary which does sound different than any other conventional piston engine.

I was sitting in my car parked waiting for my dad to come out of subway and two middle age gentlemen walked up and started complimenting my car as well as asking me all about it, see how often that happens in an accord. Ask how many girls would rather take a ride in an accord than the RX8, very few.

Don't worry about that nonsense, you own a kick *** sports car and should be proud.

Accords are mid-size family sedans. You are driving a bad-*** ride that turns heads. They are driving some soccer mom car that's a Honda. Tell them congrats on the gas mileage... chicks are always turned on by that.

yep, forget about FC for now. FD came out like what, since 1991 I think? thats like 15 years of "experience" ? they have more than enough time to R&D almost any kind of mods to FD.

FE(8)? 3 years ? and with all these "new" computer systems thats so annoying to beat. Its just not a fair comparion. Im sure we can laugh at ANY 7 after maybe 12 years from now (15 years in total) ,then those 7 owners will cry and say its not fair because 8 is newer. Get a life.

Accords can kiss my ***. I mean its a great car for normal use. but the thing is that some of the accord owners thought that their cars is the ****. and start going crazy on the road. and really think that their HP/Torque can beat my 8 or something. Well, I really want to see what their face was like, when they just disappered from my mirrors after I turn sightly at around 65mph(they cant do that, they have to slow down or a rollover might happen)

I came home not long ago, and there was some Potanic and GTI gone crazy on the road think they're fast. I didnt even bother to play with them. Whats the point of playing with low educated kids ? (yes they're under 20 Im sure, cuz I saw them both pass me)

My Mature Level Scale : (My own Opinion)

Lets say theres only 10000 8 on earth. 50 % of our owners are mature = 5000
Lets say theres only 100000 Accord on earth. 1% of them are mature = 1000

Theres like 10 times more of Accord than 8, but only very little % of them are mature. so I guess we're good. Cuz we know that people who brought a 8 should know what we're doing. unlike kids who brag their parents for a super uber Accord

I have an Eclipse (3rd generation no less) and hear "girls car" all the time. When I got it I was still in college so it fit my price range. I didn't see anything else that I even remotely wanted in that range. I didn't realize that it was considered a "girls car", but plenty of people let me know after I got it.

It pisses me off not because someone has an opinion that differs from mine, but just that it's a comment that doesn't serve to do anything other than to get at me inevitably so they can feel better about themselves. I don't think they're jealous or anything -- just morons.

It does weigh on me a little and I have to admit that my search for a new car is probably partially fueled by that despite what I'd like to believe. It sucks to think that the car you're excited about is only going to serve to be fodder for your "friends" to make comments about. I don't know what the right decision for you is, but I do realize it's not always as easy as "don't listen to what other people think". For my part, I'd rather have the car than a bunch of jackass friends like that.

i own both a 2000 AV6 Coupe and a 2004 RX-8

and they are right, the Rx-8 does not have torque compared to the AV6. but the Rx-8 looks and handles so much better.

At RockFalls Raceway my Accord ran a 14.9 and my friends red Rx-8 Ran a 15.4 now does that make the Rx-8 slow? No, by all means it was just the driver that day.




My daily driven vehicle is my Accord while my weekend FUN car is my Rx-8

and they are right, the Rx-8 does not have torque compared to the AV6. but the Rx-8 looks and handles so much better. Altho with Tien H-springs and Tokico blue shocks on the Accord. i can push it to its limit on clover leafs and turns more so than the Rx-8 because i am not fully confident in pushing the Rx-8 to its limits on turns yet. SO with my experience.. my Accord will out handle the Rx-8... for now untill i have built up more confidence with the Rx-8.

Don't feel too bad over this, the last time I accompany a friend of mine to check out a DC2 Type R for sale. The owner's friend was asking what I drove, I answered "A RX-8" no more no less and the first word that got out of her mouth was "Oh its slower than our civic, tried it killed it". I shut her up by asking her, "You mean the straight or the corners", not that I think the Civic is slower in corners or anything.
