I touch it, It breaks...

Everything I touch on my 8 breaks. A few days ago I opened my center console and the plastic things that slide in the track broke off. This morning I set my E-brake and the sliding cover that is attatched to the handle, the part that slides into the console, it popped and fell off. Tonight I opened my window and put my arm out, just as I thouched the door it popped and, I was like what now? The seal that is at the bottom of the window along the top of the door had broken loose. It feels like it is going to fall off.

Is my car a pile of crap or what? My car is 2 months old, it only has 4,000 miles on it.

Has anybody else had these things happen to their car?

Same here. I know a few other members had the same issue. Just a defect.
If your cars still under warranty the dealership should fix these little problems at no charge. Lots of new cars have these minor issues. Just be thankfull it's nothing serious.

How weird that you get all these defects now. Get them fixed under warranty.

God didn't create warranties, except on one's life. Turbo? Go to hell. Died from flooding? Gates to heaven.

God didn't create warranties... they evolved from the forces of the free market

The rattles are a lot of fun! But if things are breaking, that means you need to watch your big clumsy self.

the little plastic flap on the ebrake broke on my car too, but that was a week ago, and at about 38k miles. The delaer should replace the center console if you are still under warranty. Sorry to hear you are having all those problems. join the club.

Just think what would have happened if you bought American or a Nissan. That should put your mind to ease.

Hey....i resent that. I never had any problems with my 2k2 Maxima or any of my 3 Z's (80,86Turbo,94Twinturbo)inside or out. Actually i was more skeptical about the Rx-8 falling to pieces before any of my Nissans , especially with Mazdas dismal track record.

1 week of ownership of the 8 and so far ,everything is fine...

I have a nissan and have had no flooding problems, can shut engine off cold, no CELs, or rough idles, nothing breaking inside .... well except for my CD player but it's getting old.... it's a 1998 with 117,000 miles.

I love the RX8, but sometimes I get the feeling that some owners are using the good ol' American car owners' excuses like "Oh all cars have these problems..."

Agree.....everycar and manufacture has its lemons. I had a 88 Jetta GLI and what a lemon, but you couldn't tell other VW owners that because they had little to no problems with there cars. I just got a bad apple out the bunch.....

The same part of my e-brake handle broke too at around 37k miles. It's currently floating around inside the console...

I'm a member of this club as well. I think of it as a trade-off. Where else can you buy a car with nearly perfect weight distribution and handling, good power, and neck snapping good looks for less the $25,000? To get all this you have to give up something. With the 8 you give up some interior manufacturing quality. I think it's a fair trade.

The flap on my ebrake broke too. Truth be told, I think the dealer did it because I noticed it after they had it.

Oh well, when I go to get the new console cover they ordered for me, they can order a new ebrake handle. Assuming they ever call me that is...
