hrmm good idea i'd love to go also. Lets see we can meet some where in KS, OK, MO. Im sure there are some big places to host the event in those states. They seem to be the best for both coasts.

There are a few of those.
1. Sevenbstock,
2. RX-8 Brotherhood of the Dragon,
3. Deals Gap Rotary Rally,
4. Quad State Rotary BBQ
5. Midwest Rotary Rally
Those are just a few that I know of
Question to you and all?
How many of those do you go to. if not why not?
Most likely too far? No time?
Priority...our cars, women, eating, computers,
not necessary in that order.
( I did not say eating in our cars, eating women or eating on our computers,..well maybe eating w....)
What is most difficult is that the east coast will not go to the west coast cause its too far to drive and vice versa
Last years drive from Texas,Dallas to the BOTD took us from 5 AM to about 8PM with a stop here and there to gas up and eat. SO drive from east coast to west, or west coast to east would take much longer..Guess no one would really do it. Or not enough ppl willing to do it.
Much more difficult for those in the usa, Alaska, Hawaii and worse for those overseas.
How much would it cost to drive,ie ship car from Hawaii or worse overseas to usa and back?
Guess not cost effective
Ok so then just a meeting between 2 ppl?
On a side note: Ask the Dallas/Fort Worth group
They made a Texas State meeting and most ppl from Texas did not make it for whatever reason. No one from Austin, few from San Antonio, none from South Texas, East Texas, etc. WHY? and you think they would drive further to somewhere else?
Best thing to do is a central place of USA. Where could that be?
Where Texas, Oklahoma,Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico meet/touch? Central USA?
Must be large, have camping setups, etc.
Does not have to be in any large city. Heck out in a country place would be nice
Wal-Marts are everywhere for shopping supplies.
Who will do the planning, etc?

FL sounds good or Atlanta but idk how far i would be willing to drive.... definately not to the west coast on the mileage the 8 gets most likely not farther than two states in any direction
i dont think its possible to plan something a majority of club members would be willing to drive to

And yeah, Sevenstock is the closest it will ever come. If a massive rally supported by Mazda with alot of vendors, support, shows, etc... doesn't get people to come, then a Walmart parkinglot in the middle of Kansas sure as hell isn't.
People have lives, and you will at best get a 30% match on timing, and depending on the cost of attending (driving, etc...) you could get as little as 1% match on cost.
Don't get me wrong, it would be awesome, and I fully intend on a round-the-country road trip with my 8 sometime in the next few years, and I will be timing it to hit meets in various parts of the country.
But there is always reality. Unfortunately.

I'd be down for Deals Gap or maybe FLA.
Really for me it has to be within a half days drive.
I can't be away from home too long because of aging parents.

I say> Is not carisisle also for MX-3s?
It is not a car specific event if I can think correctly.
Fall Carlisle is a utopia to collector, classic and custom car and truck enthusiasts, and signals the ending of the automotive hobby season for those of us living in the Northern United States and Canada. For five days – September 30 – October 4 – Fall Carlisle, held at the 102-acre Carlisle PA Fairgrounds, is home to a unique and massive crowd of folks who share one common passion: love for all things automotive. In addition to the camaraderie shared at Fall Carlisle, these “gear-heads” come from all across the United States, Canada and Europe for the shopping experience. 8,100 spaces, with limited space still available, will be jam packed with automotive parts, accessories and memorabilia including more than 1,800 vehicles of all makes, models and prices for sale in the car corral. And to top off all of the shopping during the daytime, the buying and selling excitement will continue on Thursday and Friday evenings at the Fall Carlisle Collector Car Auction.

But not rx-8 specific, it is a general event. Mainly all mazda not all rx-8 OR AM I WRONG?

That is what they said about that little rock and roll even long time ago and now all know about it..
A place in the middle of no where
i think it is called woodstock
