I need some help......

Ok, i'm hoping i dont get flamed for this cause honestly, I did a search and it didnt help me out any. I have an 04 with 30k miles I bought it in Augusut of 04. I have absolutely no mods whosoever except for powdercoated stock wheels. I havent started my car for about 3 weeks. So , tonight I get in to start it and the dome liights flickered, i put the key in and tried to turn the engine over, and all of a sudden ALL of my gauges started going crazy. The car wouldnt start, so i came to the conclusion that its a dead battery. My question is, are the gauges supposed to go crazy when the battery is dead? I hope its normal, cause it scared the hell out of me and now I'm worried sick.

Thanks for your help

When my battery went dead it did the same thing. Try to charge the battery and see if it holds a charge, if not replace it.

Thanks drogers. You took a lot off my mind knowing that its not an electrical issue with my car. Will any of the Optima batteries fit in our cars without having to make mods to the cables/box?

Hmmm.. give it enough charge to drive, then go into your dealership claiming a hard start, and have this SB taken care of.

...free battery perhaps.
