i need help with the rx8!
whats up everyone, im new to this forum. iv been car searching latley and i have been looking at rx8s. i really like the looks of the car, however i have heard the engine life isnt that long, and i know they get about 20 mpg which is just allright. so im a little torn. if u guys have any helpful info bout the car that would be great?
im looking at a few with around 50,000 miles for 11 to 13g's does this sound like an allright deal?
and how realiable are the engines? will it still be going strong at 100 plus?

there are a million threads about his already, just tool around the site a bit. And if you get one and find that the car won't start after a short trip or if you find foamy stuff on the dipstick tool around a bit more.

cmon guys, give the kid a break...if it really was that bad, the mods wouldve deleted the post already, this is a chance for some you guys to give advice and bring your post count up....
chuck, there are plenty of people with their rx8s well over 100k miles, some that are just startin to mod their car at 100k....

2.Take the car to the dealer IMMEDIATELY to make sure all the recalls are up to date
3. Check oil every other fill up coz this engine consumes oil (not an absurd amount about 1 qt. every 1000 mi) which is ESSENTIAL to not frying your engines apex seals thus killing ur baby.
4.Dont buy the car if gas mileage is ur concern as it will avg. anywhere from 16-20mpg.
5.i have read of members here with 8's at or close to the 100,000 mi mark
6.11,000 - 13,000 is a good deal i bought mine for 11,500 with 50k on it the car came as u see it in my sig.
and lastly the 8 is tons of fun to own and drive as long as you do the proper research on it, i absolutely love my car (my GF will vouch for that..

many a night i lay awake contemplating its annihilation. shall I use explosives or a firing squad? maybe i should control it by remote off a cliff with a parachute torn down the center. it's destruction would need to be grand and with a hint injustice. but nothing short of total devastation will do. the hand of loki may be necessary, i say to myself over and over.
