...afternoon or evening for that matter. Went on a drive with 7 other 8's this past weekend though the mountains (check out the west forum!!). It was a great day, had the window down, turned off the radio for a while to hear the sound of rotaries roaring through the mountains. Maybe they were roaring so loudly because i was fortunate enough to be behind vivid's 8 so the sound was more noticable (great mods). Nonetheless, a sound like no other!

 

Sounds like you need to download some rotary sounds into your cell phone, and use it for your wake-up alarm every morning

 

Vivid's 8 has a nice low roar it in my opinion, not the high pitch whine that a lot of folks install. There's sure to be more pictures posted in there in the coming days. Pret - you get a chance to leave an invitation on any local 8's yet?

I hear ya Pret - I can't wait to get in my car every morning and lunch and after work. I seem to suddenly run a lot of errands in the evenings when I get to check out the red backlit dash. It's so danged alluring and smooth. I finally got the chance to drive by a glass building last week and wow aren't these cars a beaut! I stopped to look at the reflection and then realized the people in there probably thing I'm an idiot sitting in the middle of the drive looking at the reflection

 

poolside, u just like looking at UR bautiful relfection! hehe. btw, like the lights? u gonna spring for the interior footlights? i was thinking about it.

 

I'd like to see those footlights in person first. It sounds really cool and I just totally dig the soft red backlights that we have already. Where were you going to order yours if you choose to go that route?

I will say I decided to order the 3rd brake light decal and I intend to put that on sometime soon :D

 

Is anyone else here old enough to remember the old commercial "Mazda goes HMMMMMMMM" ? Can't help thinking about it every time I start up. I think the new motto ought to be "zoom-zoom-hmmm" for the renesis.

I drive 25 miles each way
and I love it

 

Heck, the sole reason I got the RX8 is because my commute (in an SUV ) went from 8 miles a day to 100 per day. Needed something fun to drive. Now, all I want to do is drive...

 

I love the sound of either of my rotaries in the morning. But I guarantee that my neighbors prefer my 8 in the morning to my FD with DP, hiflo cat and Greddy power Xtreme exhaust.

I actually don't like to drive my 8. Well, I do like to, but I don't because I find myself always wanting to go over the speed limit, and so the drive becomes an exercise in torture as I fight the urge to drive faster.

 

Damn no wonder I was getting a wee bit giddy! And I thought it was the song of the rotary!

On a serious note... yes, the door is open that way the neighbors can hear it too!:D

 

You know, I've never heard my 8 from the outside? It's only a month old, and I've been too possessive to let anyone else rev it while I stand behind it. Plus, they'd think I'm nuts, but they just don't understand the car like I do.....
