I keep spilling my drinks at the drive thru, anyone else?
Ever since I bought the RX8 I've had trouble at drivethru windows. When I grab my drink I have on a couple of occasions hit the top of the cup on the top of the window spilling the drink on me. Whenever I'm at a drivethru now I have to be very careful when someone hands me a drink. Has anyone else had this problem?
On a sidenote I don't eat in the car.

I hate spilling daquries in the car!! It gets all sticky and you end up smelling like an alcoholic. They should find a better way to hand them to you through the drive through window!!

Oh my gosh, the dreaded cup spilling scandal! How could Mazda have put this car out there without documenting this defect! I want my money back! They should have told me that the only cup you can get through the window is medium or smaller!
Hmm ... sounds like that oil consumption thread ...
Sorry, actually, I've found that the "gunslit" side windows of this car have caused a number of issues for me:
1) Not being able to reach the ATM buttons
2) Not being able to reach the parking ticket buttons at the ticket issuing machine
3) Toll change inaccuracy
4) the dreaded "spilled coke" issue (luckily, I didn't really spill it ... but close!)
etc. etc.
At least the view out the front is expansive ...

The drink solution
I always carry a tube of 6-ounce cups with lids. When I get to the drive-thru window I ask (politely, of course) for them to transfer the Super Size to the smaller cups, when are then passed, one by one, through the window. I've created a customized cup-holding array that overlays the stock one (with two inches of styrofoam on the bottom to elimate cup-warming), giving me up to 10 very stable cup holders for the 6-ouncers. I also find a 6-ouncer much more managable when talking on a cell, since you can slip your index finger around the wheel and still maintain cup control! It's also great when I'm carpooling with kids, since they tend to slobber on my straw.

yep! try getting closer to the window and not hitting the curb (if they have one) and not ding your nice wheels. Perhaps the person handing it to you is more interested in the car then handing you the drink and you wind up spilling it. Do you then get another drink? A large drink would make a nasty mess in an RX drivers seat, the carpet, under the seat and other places.

Guys,
Offthread, tell me this why do they have the braille system on drive-up ATM's? Are they seriously thinking that a blind person would be driving a car and using the ATM?

No food or drinks except water in the car....or if I have a diabetic friend, but they've got to be on the verge of a coma for me to let them have a bite of a candy bar
Also no farting allowed in the car, even though the Aldyhyde filter does a good jobs eliminating the smell :p
