Question I have a question to whoever has the answer.

ok, I feel very ignorant asking about this, but I just want to get my own facts straight so I dont sound like a moron when my buddy ask me about it. Is there such a thing as a "Mazdaspeed RX-8". I know theres alot of mazdaspeed parts and RX-8s with mazdaspeed bodykits and CAI's, but Im talking about an official production Mazdaspeed RX-8. Im sure theres not one available in the US, but im not sure about Japan. Im just curious and want to get my own facts straight, so please just answer my question and dont flame. Thanks everyone.

Short answer: no. There's no "high-performance" RX-8 on sale anywhere.

Long answer: There are RX-8's with every Mazdaspeed accessory, and RX-8's like the Prodrive and the MZ Tune that have specialized body kits and suspension accessories, but no power modifications.

The mazdaspeed rx8 is based of the JDM type-S model which really is just a manual RX-8. Anyhoo it has things that are 'upgrade' over the regular type-S but most of these upgrades like dual oil coolers are std for our cars. In fact the so-called ECU tune and spark plugs 'upgrade' is what we got as recall. But it does have some MSP items though. But mostly it's nothing to lust over. It doesn't even have heated seats or headlight washers. LOL!

short answer, no.

simply put, there are 8's with mazdaspeed parts, and some sly people think it wise to call them mazdaspeed RX-8s.

No more logic behind that thought then tossing a Greddy turbo on your 8, and refurring to it only as a Greddy RX-8.

Blah blah blah

The *real* Japanese Mazdaspeed Rx-8 Has an modified ECU, is something like RB/Fujita Engineering ECU mod. You cannot get their ECU, because every one of them has its own serial and if theres a problem with it, it has to be a 1 on 1 swap.

So yes there is a Mazdaspeed version. with better engine performance, but nothing really *crazy*

come to think of it, I think there was one on Forza 1 as well...but if I recall correctly, it really wasn't all that much faster then the initial 8, if at all.

Looked "cooler" tho.
