If you guys had $1,000 to spend on the 8...what would you use it for?....exhaust,intake etc.Or appearence mods?

since the first thing I got was the ms spoiler, I guess that would have been where the 1 grand went.

 

Get some Hoosiers and a set of inexpensive but light weight wheels and go have some fun at the local autox.

 

Intake, a complete wash/wax kit, and a flywheel.

 

Spare tires...or just keep it for gas....

 

Pretty soon that $1k could probably buy less than a month of gas....

 

I'd spend it on a cheap used motorycle so I could drive something that cost me less per mile in gas.

I would actually spend it on an ecu. This can not only affect power but also fuel economy if tuned for it.

The prices for parts are from Trussville Mazda. If I had to pair it down to $1000, I'd eliminate the debadge, front air dam, the spoiler and the splash guards. Total of the paired down list: $990.71.

I've also been considering tinted windows, but the laws in Illinois are so restrictive it doesn't seem worth it

 

please tell me you didnt spend 500 dollars to have someone take the badges off of your car.

 

No, Brothervoodoo did - unfortunately I can't find the photos, but they did an awesome job filling the post holes. Do you think it should be less for the filling and paint work?

 

oh i didnt know there are holes that had to be filled. i figured the all of the emblems are just glued on.

 

I believe he said two or three are just glued on... they can be removed with a hairdryer and dental floss. I think the "M" on the hood and at least one of the other decals in the rear have posts. To me, the car looks much better without emblems, but $500 is too much.

 

id get the suspension package by Racingbeats... springs and sway bars. then with the extra 500 id get their exhuast

 

I would use it for gas since gas prices keep going up. Seriously I would save until I had about 1500 and get rims and tires for the winter.

 

Fender strakes, exhaust finishers, leather parking brake - and still about $450 left.
