How to shift properly in the RX8.

what about the best shift point for century sprit 0-100kmh timing?
for a 6speed-MT, will it achive better timing by
To launch the car
1) at neutral, keep it 4-5k rpm and throw the clutch
OR
2) accelerate from 1k rpm
in between gears
1) change gear at redline/beep 9.5k rpm
OR
2) Change gears at 5-6 rpm
for a 6speed-MT, will it achive better timing by

I don't even know where to begin.
0. Doesn't make sense.
1. The safest place to be is behind a potentially dangerous driver. You can always stop - lord knows if the other drivers will or can.
2. I'm not quite sure what you're saying here, but it seems you want to get ahead of the other drivers so they know you're there. I trust my defensive-driving and attention to the road more than the other drivers out there. Again, it's safer to be behind aggressive or drunk drivers.
Anyway, this is more of a misguided attempt at offering driving tips than shift points. If everybody were to follow this example we'd have a bunch of lunatics driving like madmen to try to avoid each other.

Shift when it feels right. I suggest covering up the tach and getting a feel for the car rather than watching the instruments.

I start mine up in the morning THEN go back inside to pour my coffee. 5 minutes later, I slowly drive away shifting at 3k to 3.5k for another few minutes. After it's warm I shift 5-6 k and hear the beep at least once a day I also premix (have since the get go) so I know there is lubrication no matter what. I think because of the expansion coeficient of aluminum vs cast iron, warm up is VERY important. I had a '79 rx7 that I left at a friends house for a couple of weeks while I was on vacation. One day he moved it from one spot on his driveway to another. When I got back the 7 had carbon lock The engine wouldn't even turn over. I had to replace the engine. Never start the car unless you plan on letting it warm up.
