How to replace rear-side marker lights?

One of my rear-side marker lights is not lighting up. Since the other side is working fine, I don't think it is a fuse issue.

Checked the manual, it has the guidance to replace all light bulbs except the rear-side marker light. Instead it says:
"Rear side-marker lights: Due to the complexity and difficulty of the procedure, the bulbs should be replaced by an Authorized Mazda Dealer."

In the specification of the light bulbs section, it says "The rear side-marker light bulbs cannot be replaced because they are an LED-type bulb. The rear combination component must be replaced."

Does that mean I have to replace the WHOLE rear bulb component (including brake light/turn signal light etc.) ?

Anyone has experience with this?

BTW: it is a 2007.

Thanks all.

I don't remember anyone successfully replacing just the rear LED marker lights, so yes, it seems the whole assembly must be replaced, sorry.

I'm guessing you've already checked the small connector for those lights to make sure it's connected. Those lights went out on my 8 and I found the connector completely disconnected.

no i have not checked that yet. it there any connector for the rear marker-light itself? the manu has detailed info regarding brake light, turn light etc. ,but there is almost nothing about the marker-light....anyway, I guess I should check the connector first...
