I live in Northern Louisiana and RX8's are a rare commodity. I see way more Z's and Infiniti G35 Coupes than RX8's. I can probably count the # of RX8's on two hands that are in this area. Fo sho there are three blue ones in town. One on a dealer's lot, another one driven by a young caucasian male and then there is mine. I kinda like the exclusivety.

DailyDriver2k5 02-16-2006 03:01 PM

Here in central Fl RX-8 are not as common as 350Z's, Supras, etc....but there around. But i will tell you guys that seeing my first dark forest green RX-8 was a shocker....dang it look good.

Crazy Rx-8 Driver 02-17-2006 03:07 AM

Where i live in my appartment complex... 5 Rx-8's, 2 blacks, 2 reds, and my yellow one.... so i see them plenty lol

and down the road is a girl that just had her parents buy her a white one.

so umm... yea i see them a lot. but im glad my color is unique tho!

SolidGun 02-17-2006 03:47 AM

I have never seen one. And I mean like never seen one on the road and only at dealerships, parked.

jalibrandi 02-17-2006 05:05 AM

None, I have the only 8 in LaCrosse, WI. :) No Mazda dealer for 100 miles, I guess that is the main reason why. I do get a lot of attention aroud town!

In the 6 months I've owned my car I've had three sightings where I live in the Corning/Elmira/Ithaca/Watkins-Glen area all different colors so all different cars, only seen once each and none of them blue. There is a VR at the local Simmons-Rockwell dealership, but it seems tragically overpriced.

I don't have a strong preference to either be unique or have many RX-8 brothers and sisters nearby. I do take some satisfaction in being unique, but that also means no local RX-8 club chapter or meets.

I regularly see another black one, a green, a gray, and a red here in the Binghamton area. However, I don't think any of these guys are on the forum.

MX6_2_RX8 02-17-2006 07:23 AM

Not including dealerships I think I have seen about. . . 6 total since they were introduced. I think that would count as not many.

mx5rx8 02-17-2006 12:01 PM

I see an RX-8 about once or twice a week here in LA/OC. I think its an added benefit of owning one as they are really so inexpensive for the amount of car we get.

On the other hand, I probably see dozens of G35s, 3 series BMWs, WRX/EVOs every week.

sojourner 02-17-2006 09:34 PM

Other than the dealership (had 2), I have only seen one, and he was just visiting family in the area, so quite a rare experience.

Probably more spotted owls in Western Michigan, than RX-8's. I haven't seen one on the road in about four months! That is, before most of us put them away for the winter.

Mr. RX 02-18-2006 08:49 AM

I see them probably every two days in the highway, in the town i was from in jersey i would say i was about the third person with one, But now where i live there is a lady with a nordic green which is the same color that i have, which i think is the rarest and the best sorry guys and gals no disrespect just my opinion!

L-Co 02-18-2006 06:47 PM

Not many around here in Birmingham, AL. However, I am seeing more over the past 3 weeks. I was so proud to be the only one driving a blue 8, then to my horror, saw another one on the interstate last week. They didnt even wave. Oh well......... :dunno:

UFGator12 02-18-2006 10:57 PM

Let's just face it, we love everything about the 8!

Rotary78 02-18-2006 11:48 PM

I see the same 2 8's a Winning Blue and a yellow one.... Both AT because I talked to them, and I could also see the Manumatic shifters on the steering wheel.... Not that there's anything wrong with having a AT.... I agree with RX8 ZOOM ZOOM, nothing like an 8 driver/ RX-8......

modforce 02-19-2006 12:13 PM

I see a blue one all the time. I usually see 4-5 a day here in Cincinnati but maybe 1-2 a day if that when I was in Phoenix

HCTR154 02-19-2006 12:22 PM

Not that many here in the Conroe, Texas area. However, one of my stepdaughter's friends just got a red one, with automatic of course, for her 16th bday!!

I see a lot more Mustang GT's than RX 8s,which is one of the reasons why I bought the 8!!

ucfracerx8 02-20-2006 11:10 AM

On my daily drive, I will usually see 1 maybe two going each way, but in the parking lot, I think we are up over a dozen now. Large company so they are spread out, but it is not uncommon for four or five of us to park near each other. Still no where near the number of 350z's, G35's (sedan and coupe) and STi's that I see on a daily basis, so that makes me feel better.

IZoomZoomI 02-20-2006 11:47 AM

I rarely see any 8's on the road when I'm driving my 8. I see them every once in a while when i'm driving my truck. Yesterday I saw three. But I would say I see an average of 5 rx8s a week.

RX8kicka$$ 02-22-2006 09:36 PM

I Love my car and anyone who would try and take it away from me would be hunted down and killed :)

Hey now, don't be bashing on automatics, i got one, i'm a male, and the reason being is cause i have a bad knee that hurts too bad when with constant pushing of a clutch...automatic is still good to go in my book!

Raptor2k 02-22-2006 11:11 PM

^but you have a legit excuse

RX8Dragon 02-23-2006 12:06 AM

Here on Goodfellow AFB TX, there are 4 8's that ive spotted, a TG(mine), and VR, WB, and a BB. Surprisingly mine is the only GT MT outta the bunch.

CrazyRX88's 02-23-2006 12:25 AM

Up here near Buffalo I've seen a Winning Blue a few times (lives nearby). Other than that I hardly ever see them. Coming home from work one day I was determined to spot an 8, I was looking like crazy, spotting nothing at all until I was getting off the highway a few blocks from my house and finally spotted a Titanium Gray, so that made my day. (I know I'm easy to please!) :)

Hightshoe 02-23-2006 09:24 AM

I live in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St. Paul), and have only seen one 8 in the 5 months I've had mine. It could be because its winter. However, I do see atleast 5 350Z's everyday, even more Sti's, and Evo's are like a cavalier up here. I could never justify the 37 g's on a car I see at every stop light.
