I rarely drive my Rx8 because i live in the city, but i drive about 1 or 2 miles a day, how often should i add oil? Thanks in advance

whenever its low. just check it. it isnt that hard.

I drive about 120mi highway a week and check my oil once a month. End up adding oil once every 2-3 months
Edit- No city driving at all. I love where I live

i check it every two fill ups, that's also what's recommended

The harder you drive it, the more frequently you may need to add oil.

1 or 2 miles a day, really, or is that just an average? It's not good for a car to repeatedly drive it such a short distance. Take it for a long drive once a week or so.

I agree. Sometimes it is difficult to predict oil consumption. Best thing is to check it about twice a month, and if it's looking low, fill it up.

Me too.

Thicker oil seems to last longer.
The oil that was in the car when delivered ran down to the warning light on a 1000km trip.
Now I rarely add more than about 200ml every few months.

I add every 500-750 miles, but these guys are right when your at pump check dip stick

I drive around 500 miles per week in my car... I check my oil weekly... which, if you're keeping score at home... is once every 2 fill-ups. I have to add oil about once a month. (highway miles = not hard on the engine)

1-2 miles a day? Does the engine even warm up?

Before the last big flash i never checked it. After I have to check it every 500-1000 miles. It seems to suck up a quart in 1,000 miles. I would complain, but its like getting a free untuned accessport. At least I know my engine is well lubed.

I check every 2 weeks. But add only when it reaches half as indicated by the dipstick. So depending how much I drive, it can be b/t 2-4 weeks before I even see the need to add any oil.

I change my oil Every 5000km... Because of this I never really have to add oil. I do check also when my cap isn't welded on...

I get my oil changed every 3k miles and rarely have to add any between changes. A quart every 1k miles is very unusual. And yes, I do 'spirited driving' (naturally aspirated). I do check it regularly tho'.

Ive had to add as little as 3/4 of a qt and as much as 2 depending on the time of year and what Ive been using the car for... I find its best just to keep in the habit of checking every other fill-up just in case

I change oil every 3000 miles.
As soon as I do an oil change I check my oil level the very first thing the next morning.
After that, I check my oil 1500 after the oil change. At this point I usually have to add 1/2 to a full quart of oil to fill er' up.
