How often do you beep?
You know the beep I'm talkin' about - 9000 rpm! So have you hit it? Is so, how often? My car has almost 1600 miles on it now and I have never pushed it that far yet. Am I crazy?

I try to find the rev limiter warning beep at least once a day, if not more. I didn't start making it a habit until 1000 miles or so, but now it's part of the experience. Gotta keep those plugs clean!

I redline 2nd gear every chance I get -- probably 5 to 8 times a day. The 2 to 3 shift at 9k (or 9.5k) is awesome -- don't get many chances to redline in 3rd and usually avoid in 1st and shift about 7500.
Time to take off the training wheels and live a little.:p Redlining the rotary is like letting the dog out to play -- it just plain makes em happy.

Now don't get me wrong, I rev it plenty. But usually only to 8k or so. I've always been a rotary fan, but this is my first to own. I guess it's just latent Piston Engine Disintegration fear. I'm going to make it point to "hit it" in the near future!

Do a search and watch the video where the dumb asses are trying to blow up their 2nd gen RX-7. They have it full throttle for over 7 min and already have one blown apex seal. The engine finally goes but only because they left the radiator cap off. Then the car catches on fire because the exhaust temps got to hot and actually caught the carpet on fire. Once you watch this video you won't worry so much about hearing the ding.
I hit the redline regularly (depending on traffic and the PoPo) about twice on my 7 mile commute to work.
