My old key ring broke and was useless considering the rest of my keys fell off of it from being thin and flimsy. So now I'm trying to put a beefier keyring on, and it looks like its just not going to happen. Couldn't mazda have put bigger holes?

I have my key as a standalone on just a decorative fob on its own. I hate how my keys hit my leg when I'm driving.

If youre talking about the credit card key, perhaps put a larger keyring on a smaller one and attach your keys to the large one? heh.

I found a keyring at Home Depot which works great. I'll post a pic this evening when I get home from work.

All I have on my key ring is my key and keyless entry fob. I try to keep the weight on my ignition to a minimum. Having a lot of weight on the ignition, coupled with everything swinging around while driving, can put pre-mature wear on the internals of the ignition. I guess its just one of those little things that bother me.

why would you put keys with the credit card key? Doesn't it defeat the purpose of having a key that thin?

I don't.

Was just a suggestion. If you do what I said then it should work with any key

If he's talking about the credit card type key, you don't put the key in the ignition - you keep it in your pocket (or pocketbook). It's attached to a small ring with a heavy thread-type lanyard stuck through a tiny hole in the "credit card". If that's what broke, find some heavy line of some type and thread it through and attach it to any size ring you want.

i haven't found a "normal" sized key ring that will fit the key/fob for my 05 RX-8. i use the wimpy one that came on the key tag when i bought the car. sometimes it works itself loose and i'll pull my keys out of my pocket and the RX-8 key will still be sitting in my pocket. on my key ring i have the RX-8 key, the key to my 85 RX-7 GS, my house key, mom's house key, p/o box key, F-150 keys, and the key and fob for my wife's 06 Freestyle. the rest of my RX-7 keys are on a seperate key ring. this helps keep key weight down and help to minimize ignition cylinder wear.

I would, if I didn't have the remote key. Now, I just jam it in the ash tray.

Once you figure out what will fit in the key/fob for the 05 switch blade design please tell me. I went to a party last weekend and someone tried to take my keys away from me and broke off the OEM ring now its bent like a close hangar. I also have the problem of the key itself disconnecting from the main key ring.

you do realize that you can carry a key chain AND your car key... everything doesnt have to be on one massive key ring.

^ I have 3 car keys and 2 house keys on my key ring. Total of 5 keys including the 8 not massive at all.. I just like everything connected together its a piece of mind for me since I have the tendency to loose things often.
