Houston Help?

So i woke up and decided Im tired of getting butt pwned by dealers/mechanics and i want to learn a few things to do myself to save money. I'm tired of other people touching my car! Last time I purchased my own coils, plugs, and wires the dealer charged me almost 240 bucks just to put them on and it only took them about and hour and 20 mins. Also I feel like jiffy lube has screwed me over; my last oil change I made a tiny mark on the filter and call me crazy but the mark is still there. I had it changed a week ago and that was the last straw!

Getting to the point:

Is there anyone in the Houston area willing to lend me some of their time and teach me a few things. I would like to learn how to change my coils, plugs, wires, tranny fluid, and oil. You will be compensated for your time of course! I'm willing to pay you 40 bucks an hour and I'm thinking about 2 hours. I don't expect you to do anything, just walk me through and show me how thats it. Im more of a hands on kind of guy so the videos and pics I find don't do it for me. Anyone want to make a quick 80 bucks and score a 6 pack of beer? I'm looking to do this after new years, if you'd like to help me pm me. Sorry if this is wrong section I figured general was the best fit for my thread.

there is a thread, which I am too lazy to search for, but here is the jiffy lube video

As for your DIY help- changing the ignition system is one of the easiest I've ever done! If someone helps you, that's always good! But, I have no doubt that this is something that you could tackle without any issue. You may be over-thinking lol

I'm sure someone will help you learn all of that. Most people are willing to help out other members for just beer alone as payment. If I was near you I would love to come out and help you learn to do all of this but unfortunately I am not. There are several members from your general area so I am sure someone would be willing to.

Also check the DIY forum there are lots of them with pictures, but I understand sometimes people learn better hands-on. You may want to post this in the regional forums for texas though.

Thanks guys! Im 100% they didn't change the filter because I made 3 dots with a permanent marker and after the oil change I check and boom 3 dots. Stupid ghetto jiffy lube lol. I wanted to drive all the way back but I decided it would have been pointless. Who knows maybe they haven't been actually changing oil as well. My guess is they didn't have the filter and got lazy on me but who knows.

Be better if you start a thread in your local section. Plenty of members that would be willing to help.
