Hit and Run by a Big Chicken last night...

Last night I was hit and run by a pu*** last night. It really pisses me the hell off. I feel almost Pulp Fiction esque. Can't have anything nice anymore. I would have loved to catch them doing the shit. Some clown blasted my car and my neighbors car in a private parking lot where we live. Almost pushed it a whole 90 degrees from the way that I had parked her.

Just pisses me off. Mine as well buy a civic once they fix this and not care what happens to it. I am sure you all know the drill. Pay to get my car fixed thanks to the actions of a drunk d-bag. We are putting posters up all around my complex offering a cash reward leading to info on whom was responsible for the incident.

Thanks for reading my mini-rant, don't even have time for a long rant. Pics below.

DarkBrew 12-10-2006 08:40 AM

Sorry that happened to your car. I hope that you find the A-hole responsible and nail him to the wall!

chrism 12-10-2006 08:47 AM

oh that sure blows.....at least now you have the chance to buy a body kit......if you find out who did this i would be glad to drive down and help whoop his ass!

Nopstnz 12-10-2006 08:52 AM

^^ So would I. Damn. Sorry about that.

StewyRX8 12-10-2006 10:29 AM

Thanks fellas, I'm ready to beat some ass...

dbright007 12-10-2006 10:44 AM

Stewy,
That sux bad... I live in apts and hate trying to find a place to park her.

dos 12-10-2006 11:02 AM

Man that sucks. I hope you find that asshole.

chrism 12-10-2006 11:43 AM

looks like you need a new exhaust with the kit too...hmmmm oem exhaust it about the same retail as a few other exhausts i know

SayNoToPistons 12-10-2006 11:59 AM

Holy shit. At least there's no structural damage. New excuse for a new exhaust :) ?

altspace 12-10-2006 11:59 AM

Sucks, I too have experienced the pain. Came out of my apt. complex to find a nice big hit like yours to my Jeep. Called police, they filed a report. I pointed out the evidence to them, which was white paint and pieces of broken headlight which was from a Toyota. Gee, how hard would it be to track that down? To top it off, my apt. place had a security guard at the entrance and video cameras, but they did absolutly nothing to assist me. This lead me to believe the cameras were fake.

Had to pay for the fix myself. It sucks.

chrism 12-10-2006 12:01 PM

stew you got a pm...let me know!

.whisper 12-10-2006 12:57 PM

Your car is dirty ;)

And that does suck. It's one of the reasons that I'm so anal about trying to park in a garage, or away from where idiots can hit me, but it's not always possible.

Hope it can get repaired quickly.

Clavius 12-10-2006 01:31 PM

Holy shyt.. and your car aint silver ><!
Definatly gonna need some body work on it. I'd say aim for maybe a bodykit and aftermarket exhaust now hehe. Just trying to shell out some positives man.

If I lived closer I'd offer myself up for a beat down of the guy who did this. I'm just picturing about 4-10 Rx-8's pulling into this guys neighbor hood and this guy shitting his pants.

encorez 12-10-2006 01:33 PM

What goes around, comes around.
Someday they will get theirs.

Winfree 12-10-2006 01:42 PM

Hope you got good comprehensive insurance - they should cover hit and run
The jerk is apt to live in the your unit or come to visit - so you can turn over a list of suspects to your insurance agent - they are more apt to do an investigation to recover their own losses - and this kind of thing can mean jail time for the perp if you can locate him, get evidence and file a complaint (depends on state) - yup check for evidence, and ask around at local body shops

Smokin_LaLa 12-10-2006 01:45 PM

I really hate idiotic people who dont respect other people's property, I hope this person gets whats coming to them, sorry to hear about this

Jackallll 12-10-2006 02:09 PM

sorry to hear....hope you catch that jacka$$

StewyRX8 12-10-2006 02:16 PM

PoPos did find a side marker from a mid 90s Grand-Am. There is a mid-90s, white grand-am in my complex but hasn't been around since, I wonder...

SayNoToPistons 12-10-2006 02:38 PM

What color is the grand-am? Any paint that was left on your car?

Wilson 12-10-2006 02:47 PM

From the pics, it looks like a black vehicle hit it.

StewyRX8 12-10-2006 02:48 PM

The grand-am here is white...

Wilson 12-10-2006 02:49 PM

Also, it looks like a little crease just at the top left of the turn signal, so it will take some body work in that area, so just a new bumper and exhaust won't quite cut it.

SayNoToPistons 12-10-2006 02:54 PM

Did you find any white paint/streaks on your rx8?

SSJ 909 12-10-2006 03:28 PM

Damn dude, that totally sux!

Isnt there anyway the police can track who did it by the paint residue from their car on yours?
I remember reading years ago that each car manufacturer has their own type of paint used on cars.
So for example if it was a certain type of yellow that was only used on mustangs.
You could do a search for yellow mustangs in your area and see which one is damaged.

toxin440 12-10-2006 03:35 PM

wow man - my heart goes out to you and your 8. I too own a brilliant black RX8. If I lived close to you i'd love to help you go looking for the piece of shit that did this and make things right.... with baseball bats.

dillsrotary 12-10-2006 03:36 PM

i'd question your retail office about who owns the white grand am, or ask around.

shinka213 12-10-2006 03:57 PM

dayum stewy....sorry to hear about your demise!!!!

does anyone know who has an OEM black cherry rear bumper....possibly for sale....
along with an oem black cherry spoiler...
you might end up with some much needed extra cash... :)

lmao

dream weave 12-10-2006 04:26 PM

damn, I'll keep my eye out for damaged grand ams, I drive past that complex just about every day.

Shinka-Dono 12-10-2006 05:38 PM

Shite! Sorry to hear about that dude (pains me to see a BC Shinka like that). The suggestions here sound reasonable. Does seem likely its someone who lives there or visits regularly. Keeping tabs on area body shops seems like a good thing to do.

Do the police seem hopeful or are they saying your probably screwed?

WTF is wrong with some people?

chrism 12-10-2006 05:45 PM

lets kick his ass.....stew dont forget the positive side of this...........

time4akshun 12-10-2006 05:45 PM

Definitely take a negative and make it a positive. Get a body shop to quote the factory parts and labor and apply to a body kit purchase. Most shops will do it cause not illegal there as long as the values are similar. Good luck and so sorry to hear. Might want to invest in a neighborhood garage.

Clavius 12-10-2006 05:49 PM

^I see it all the time in my parkinglot at work. Usualy by Elderly people, they back up hit a car sometimes a light bumb other times a heavy hit. They know they hit something because you see them stop or at times keep on backing up, then when they do stop they look around quickly and then proceed to drive away.

A few times I've had people come in and ask to use the phone to call the police because they seen someone hit a car and drive away and wish to report it. Overall these types of people just go by the rule of "No one saw it so its alright.", 2 years ago I actually seen a minivan back into a carmy and jsut drive away. I left a note for the woman telling her what happened and wrote down half of the lisence plate for her (all I could memorize as it was 20-50 yards away).

StewyRX8 12-11-2006 07:40 AM

Thanks again fellas, this blows...

Hey Stewy - if its any consolation...i gotta rear bumper..

Aseras 12-11-2006 08:11 AM

uninsured motorist covers hit and run... no claim on your policy and usually no deductible. check your insurance policy

StewyRX8 12-11-2006 08:39 AM

Thanks, I did try that. But in PA, Unisured Motorist only covers bodily injury.

And Pat, I desperately want to come to NJ to get my car done, I just don't have the time right now with a new job and finals.

LostAngel 12-11-2006 08:43 AM

Sorry to hear that stewy. :(

congrats on the new job!!
i assume you'll be posting in the BAW thread....lmao

on the bumper thing! - if you want it, its yours....no rush...its gonna be here for a while...lol
why are you going to NJ to get your car done???

tjbourgoyne 12-11-2006 09:01 AM

Happened to me. I found the car and the driver was a street rat punk, my color was infused in his dent but the cops said I would need a witness. I thought about getting some of my boys together and tell him to admit it but decided wasn't worth my time. The guy was in and out of jail and probably no insurance anyway.

Swerve76 12-11-2006 09:35 AM

On a lesser scale some dude left a dent in my door and that pissed me off to no end - I can only imagine how you must feel.

Well I need a holiday anyway. Find this dude and I'll fly over and help string him up by the balls. Then I'll pop over to Racing Beat and buy some stuff while I'm at it ;)

captain mercury 12-11-2006 11:22 AM

bad news, man. musta been really drunk or really stupid to do that much damage in a parking lot. good luck with the repairs.

Eddie13 12-11-2006 11:38 AM

No it does not. Uninsured Motorist coverage only covers medical coverage when hit by an Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist. It does NOT cover property damage.

Your Comprehensive coverage will cover your damage minus your deductible.

Winfree 12-11-2006 11:58 AM

Make sure you get a picture of street rats car where it damaged you - when you see your insurance agent make sure he gets a copy. He may just throw it away or there may be things that he can do - Hey, if your are in N.J. don' t you have any friends where you can say "Hey Roco, take care of this kid - needs to learn some respect!"?

vOc 12-11-2006 12:04 PM

Real sorry about what happened, I would be blinded by an evil rage if it happened to me. Good luck on the repair.

On another note though, although I get why you called the thread what you did...at first I thought I was gonna see some really really funny video!

SoFL_RX8 12-11-2006 12:09 PM

Mazdaspeed (or other) rear bumper: Check!
CF Trunk lid: Check!
Aftermarket Cat-back exhaust: Check!

Look on the bright side, for all the PITA that this will be your car will come out looking better than new. Trust me, I know how much of a pain a situation like this can be, my 8 has been attack 3 times in parking lots in under 6 months of ownership... but now it looks like this :)

Before:

After!:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...ontResized.jpg

Play your numbers right and you can come out of this with some seriously nice parts for $50-$100 more per part than OEM. Out of pocket I payed about $250 in difference to put a vented CF hood and body kit on the front end instead of OEM parts.

Good luck with everything man, I hope you find the bastard that did this and rearrange his face... but if not, at least your cars ass will looks super sweet when Mechanic 90210 is done with it!

StewyRX8 12-11-2006 03:26 PM

Chrism recommended that I head to NJ to get my work done...
