Angry Hit And Run =(

so i was on my home from chinatown (94-W) in the express route/lanes.. this was around 1-2 am and i was minding my own business. i was on the right lane going speed limit. this GMC truck tries to ricer fly by me and completely fcks up. i see him with his bright lights on through my side view mirror and im thinking OMG hes fckn close. like.. his whole car was inches from mine. and when he switched lanes BAM... my whole door, fender, rim, and bumper collided with his. like a jerk, HE DRIVES OFF. i end up skidding crazzy thinking i would be doing a 360 into the divider. THANK GOD i had control of the 8.. which was suprising because the 8 STILL had traction at 60 mph almost going sideways. anyway. the GOOD part.. i IMMEDIATELY follow him from the ADDISON exit to ARLINGTON hts. i lost him at the tollway because he took iPass BUT during the pursuit, i got his license plate, filed a report to the state police, and the cops found the car in front of his house minutes after i reported it. guess what? he DIDNT answer the door. he was swerving pretty crazy too maybe he was drunk or something. isnt that REASON ENOUGH to PROVE my innocence in the accident. i mean. HONESTLY despite the almost deserted roads, i DIDNT get tempted to speed or do anything crazy. i consciously was driving safe.. i guess this goes to show that no matter how good of a driver you are. things can still go wrong. luckily, the RX8 proved to shine through these bad times and NOW. after my 2nd class im goin to get an estimate. and talk to my insurance =T. saturday was a pretty good day too. well. ANYONE ELSE WHO HAS BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT THAT WASNT YOUR FAULT. OR HAS SPENT TIME W/O THE MAZDA, I SYMPATHIZE WITH YOU.

That sucks but at least you're okay and got his plates. I love Chicago but there can be some crazy bastards around here especially on 94.

They should get him for leaving the scean of an accident when they see the damage to his Truck. If they don't, go to the DA.

Good point. My brother inlaw is a personal injury/accident attorney and could probably tell you if you have a case or not.

Same thing happened to me on the beltway, here in DC. Only, I was so shocked that someone hit me that I immediately pulled over to check my car. I thought the guy would pull over but no. Filed a report but since I didn't have the license plate, I was screwed. Insurance covered everything nicely, though.

Cool

Thats very suprising that if he doesnt answer the door, the police do not have probably cause to barge in.

Watever the outcome, i'm sure he will get what he deserves.

I have to pay the deductible if I get my car repaired. I got rear ended when I went to visit my mom in nyc but the lady gave us the wrong policy number, so happened that he had it cancelled last september. She gave us her license but dont know what to do with it. The accident happened last Jan 29th 05

Didn't you give the license info to your insurance company? You can always call an attorney or stop by the local police station.
