Hint at re-designed front end?
Pic from SevenStock:

Note the different vent openings. There is a sign that it is not for styling, but I like the lower bit of the facia better (3 holes at the bottom). Looks less like the 8 is smiling.

Hmmm, if you ask me, that looks like it might actually be the current RX-7's front end. I'll see if I can dig up a picture from somewhere and post it. If you look above the side vents, there is an area for large fog lamps and side markers. Lets see if I can find that pic....

Ok, got a few. Check these to see that this is a front end from the current RX-7. Everything fits exactly as in these photos.

I don't think this is the new front end for the RX-8. Sorry.

No this is not it!
This was a very old RX8 mule shown just to tease the people. It had M2 Miata headlights, RX7 FD bumper and Protege rear+tail lights. The only RX8 thing in it were the doors and what was under the skin and not visible to the folks around (engine, chasis, suspension). Also there will not be a white RX-8 too.
The real RX-8 cars at Mazda have not been test mules but brand new shiny machines ready for showroom. I didn't have the chance to see them but I was told few minutes ago that the big change in the front is just the headlights. And from the words of the eyewitnesses - the car looks even better with the new headlights

Actually, that gets me wondering.
Where the heck is the front licence plate supposed to go? It doesn't look good anywhere you put it. (Yes I'm in CA and have to put on a front plate...)

Yeah, me too fuz. However, I'm kinda glad that that ISN'T the new front end- I really don't like the placement of the license plate up so high like that. Well, I guess Mazda will figure it out one way or another...

I live in CA also. I've had my '93 Rx7 sans the front license plate since I bought it in 1995. I've never been hassled about it despite being pulled over by the CHP a couple of times.

No no no...
Like jmanolov says, that is a test mule that was in no way a styling guide!
If you want a hint at the future of the RX-8, take a look at the SevenStock5 Tshirt back....

Well, thats not bad... except for that ugly front lip spoiler and side skirts, but I doubt they'll make it onto the production model.
Hey, anyone with "mad photoshop skillz" want to take a crack at transforming the front end of a yellow RX-8 to look like the T-shirt version?

Dammit Griamce,
Kevin from Mazda R&D said that particular RX-8 was only a very early mechanical prototype shown! because many of us came to sevenstock to see the RX-8. Many of us from Vegas, Arizona, Texas and Florida Caravans got to see a real one on friday afternoon briefly while they were putting it to bed into the garage. Rotarynews.com may have a few pics of that one later this week after he recovers from all the driving and long hours.

you only assume that there will not be a white one from the psuedo preorder sheet that setpixel posted that is from Switzerland where white cars get lost in the snow if your not careful but different markets often get different colors I doubt Mazda will not make some variation of white for the US especially out here in AZ where HALF of the cars on the road are white.

I would honestly consider moving if I had to ruin the front of my car with a big ugly license plate or register it somewhere else at least. If any of you guys want to use my address and get AZ plates let me know. It will only cost you one test drive but only if yours comes in before mine.

I'm thinking that the E type style is the only option... but I'm not sticking anything permanent to the paintwork.
Like this, if anyone is unsure what we mean...

Not!
Hey guys. Slow down. The picture at the start of this post is no more representative of an RX-8 and what it looks like today than a goat ( sorry mule). They shouldn't have even bothered showing it because it has absolutely nothing to do with the "real thing".
The t-shirt also has no bearing on what the final version looks like.
I will conclude by saying everyone will be pleasantly surprised:p :D

for the FD/rx-7 guys here ->
Did anyone else notice that even Mazda R&D couldnt find the cash for the light pods when they got the 99+ rx-7 nose for the test mule? How funny is that? Screwed by your own internal parts costs. LOL! What's the bet they couldnt afford the oil cooler ducts either
