Call me crazy, call me whatever you want but I'd rather fork over the extra 7K and get a viper.

I would like to strap that puppy on a dyno...and then take it to the saltflats

Question for those who know a bit about ebay. It seems there was only one bid, was 73K stated as the miniumum bid possible?

For Ebay, you can have any starting bid you want, then you can set a reserve price of what you'd like. Since they had it for 73k starting, they didn't put a reserve price.

Also if you have buy out price of say 100k, and someone bids the starting 73k, the buy out price is removed, and it starts going from 73k.

I'd hope this guy is serious about the 73k bid since he only has 3 positives. Because if he doesn't pay, Acosta gets shafted with a huge listing fee. And it would be horrible if the guy pay by Paypal..hahaha, the credit card fee on that would be sick.

Rather sad considering in the article with the car shown, that someone offered them 127k and they refused to sell it because it was "putting them on the map." And now they sell it for 73k. They could have sold it for 127k, buy a new 8, and fix it back up with even better parts because now they know all the labor and equipment they would need to achieve it.

If I had the money I would use the BUY IT NOW. For some reason I would rather have an 8 than any other sport car regardless.

I like the 8 myself, but if I didn't have house payments or other junk I had to pay montly, I would have purchased a Viper GTS as my next vehicle. Still planning to get one before I hit 30 years old, then buy a Ferrari Modena class before I hit 35. Don't want to be too old driving a sports car or else people will laugh at you.

I thought I read in Modified Magazine that he was offered $127,000 for the 8 at SEMA but turned it down. Anyone else read the article?

Yeah, I saw that. He said he turned it down because the car was getting the shop great publicity. Could have been an exaggeration or a $54,000 mistake. Ouch... I tend to believe the former.
