There is no "bad" - unless you blow by the redline w/o shifting. In any vehicle.

A shinka convertible is a rx8 convertable. And ya I know about the high revs, but wasnt sure if that was ok for 1st gear.

Make sure your engine is properly warmed up before you do this though....aka, temp meter is halfway.....otherwise, say bye-bye to your apex seals!!!

um, I think I speak for speak for hitman when I say the confusion was not the word "convertible", but the fact that you use it to describe a (Shinka) rx8.

I do not use the word "convertable" to describe the rx8. I use that word to describe MY shinka rx8.

I haven't the foggiest idea what you're talking about, but I like it. Keep up the good work.

Step 1 - Rev it until it beeps.
Step 2 - Shift.
Step 3 - See Step 1.

So your 8 looks like a fat *** torque monger that can't handle a turn? j/k

But I still have no clue what you mean.

So you have the first convertable RX, that nobody knows about? Interesting...

Just because you can drive around in first doesn't mean you should. Second gear is your friend.

Why's that? Considering the Renesis could easily handle 10k RPMs.

worse in what way? you have not given us the metric to judge by? worse for engine wear? worse for engine longevity? worse for tranny wear? worse for mpg? worse for operating temp?

by what standard are we to answer? explain the convertible stuff please. and dont be obtuse about it.

Ya I dont realy drive in first, i was joking. I do drive in second most often around town and 3rd on the Highway when i need to move.

Secondly... no It does not look like a fat a** torque monger. And i never said I actualy had a convertable, i just describe my car like one . I also decribe my cars top speed as the rate of acceleration of Earth's gravity, or 9.8m/s/s.
