hi flow... straight pipe?

i just heard that having a str8 pipe affects back pressure, and that i should get a hi flow cat... performance wise which is the best of the two? cause this guy isnt a rotary guy.. so not sure if in that aspect our cars are different thank you in advance

Why would you want to buy a straight pipe or a high flow cat when you can do a direct 93-95 RX-7 Turbo Swap for less than $200? The best part is that it's a direct swap.

You never want backpressure. That's a misused term. From a performance standpoint the straight pipe would be better, on paper. In the real world you aren't going to feel the couple of horsepower difference between them. If you don't have emissions laws or visual inspections then you can probably get away with just a midpipe. There are various styles though. Some have presilencers (resonators) on them and others don't. It can get pretty raspy sounding if it doesn't have one.

i have the b&b midpipe on right now and it is extremely raspy especially with a custum single side exhaust. but ok thank you guys... i think i might just change to a racing beat exhaust for a quieter note

It gets old guy.


Back pressure is only needed in two stroke engines ie motorcycles.
