Hi all!

Two years ago I had looked into getting an RX-7 FD. Unfortunately the car wasn't meant to be, the steering wheel cuts into my knees (stupid non-typical-asian stature). Just recently I started looking around for a new car, and stopped at a local Mazda dealer to see what they had. I hesitantly went to sit in a new RX-8 and... I fit! Even comfortably! So I decided right there that it was time to purchase one. I got a nice deal on a pearly white '05 GT 6spd they had just unwrapped and brought into the show room (24k with 6 miles on it).

I called my insurance company and they said it was a four-door (lol) car and priced it as LESS than the pos '97 subaru wagon I'm driving now! So needless to say I bought it up and am going to pick it up Thursday night.

Anyway, guess I'll be migrating over here from the RX-7 forums. For my first new car, I think it turned out pretty well.

Now all I need is a FAQ on finding safe parking spaces...

Hi Flak. Enjoy your new car.

Really? Knees hit the steering wheel? How tall are you?

Thanks Only 5'11" tall. BUT, as with my father and grandfather my torso is tall and with the seat in a position where I could reach the pedals comfortably my knees were hitting the steering wheel. Oh well, no such problem in the RX-8!

FAR, FAR away. Tell your friends/girlfriend/children/spouse/animals to use their legs and walk. My g/f eventually accepted it (... that I love the car more than her jk!)
