Hey- Hubby's fixing my car $OUCH$
Remember my hubby backed the car up bumping my front end into another car in the driveway. ---
Well I am happy to be getting my baby fixed tomorrow but for such little damage it's pricey. They said they have to replace right front quarter panel, entire front piece, new mazda emblem, lights on quarter panel, and clips and stuff. Total if making insurance claim around $2500 - total not using insurance (which were doing cuz he has too many tickets and we have a high deductible) is $1784. They say it will take 3 days and will look brand new. These guys are good so It better look like new.
Now maybe people will stop comin over to my cube crying, and saying - awwww, are you ok? NOOOOOO!!!!! HEEE HEEheeee

$1800 - geez, that is very expensive, the front.
Someone punched a hole into my RX-8 while it was parked, but on the rear side. I only need to buy the left rear bumper guard, and ordered it at Rosenthal Mazda for .. drumroll.. $31.
I'll never back into a parking lot now, so if someone hits me, they hit in the (cheaper) rear.
I wouldn't mind getting a new front though; looks like it collects about 2 paint chips per hour of driving.

I ran into a bit of a mishap over the weekend with a sharp left bend, wet roads, a curb and a small tree.....
I'm waiting on the estimate now, but if what you are saying is any indication its going to be pretty pricy. I've never cashed in on an insurance claim though, so i will be using it up for this one. I'm going to need a new bumper, wheel, roof panel, mazda emblem, and possibly a new hood...should be right up there around yours.
Did they tell you how long it will take the parts to come in?? It pains me to leave the house now that im behind the wheel of a 93 escort....and have an 8 in the garage....
live and learn i guess

Be sure and waterproof your fix. You don't want the duct tape to get weak if it rains. Siran wrap should suffice.

No, remember, im a fickle minion.
On a related note,, anyone know how much it would run to have a scratched and dented rear bumper repaired?

JensRX-8, I feel your pain on that one, mine got hit in a parking lot, then they left, I was left needing a new headlight, new turn sig, and needing the wheelwell fixed, the edge of front bumper fixed, where it attaches to the fender, as well as the fender redone, cost my insurance company $2100.
As to how long, mine was in for a week getting everything done, and I got it into the shop real easy, as soon as I called they got it in, so for yours, it sounds similar, hsouldnt take long, and will be painless, except when you look at the loaner you are driving.... that might bring you to tears... I will never drive an Altima again
