hey guys

my rx8's oil light comes on and goes off. does that mean that its low on oil or the engine is damaged? this happened while i was racing a g35. i was at 60mph and shifted down to 3rd and blew the doors of that g35!!!

If your oil is low enough the light is coming on, that is not good. Why don't you check it?
Are you sure the G35 wasn't driven by a 58 yr old woman?
Are you usually a winner?

does that mean that its low on oil or the engine is damaged? Usually one or the other. If low, damage will soon follow. Was it just the light, or did the pressure go down as well? There was an issue with oil pans on the early RX-8s that the light might come on even if oil level was OK. Check that out before your next trip to the drag strip.

Why would you downshift on a drag strip?

Ken

well actually it didnt happen at the drag strip, i didnt even participate we were coming home from the drag strip. there were no cars on the highway so we decided to do a few runs. thats when i saw the oil light come on and go off.

how would you know if the pressure goes down?

You do know that talking about street racing is against forum rules? It's also stupid, imo

I never said I did or didn't. That's irrelevant. It's against forum rules to POST or DISCUSS street racing.

15. We do not have a street racing or "kills" forum on this site, and threads or posts about street racing will not be tolerated

i just downshifted into 2nd gear to 9000 rpms and blew the doors off his car.

Oh good. I can see another part-out thread coming. I call dibs on the ashtray assembly assuming it's still intact after the accident.

oh yea I sense a huge fail in this thread, and the OP.

Im a moron and never check my oil level so, my rx8's oil light comes on and goes off. but I don't give a **** and decided that I should just try to street race cuz I'm so fuxking cool. then the oil light thinggy happened again while i was racing a g35 which was driven by my buddy who is also a moron. i was at 60mph and shifted down to 3rd and blew the doors of that g35!!! now I feel proud cuz Im getting close to the 2f2f level.
