I skimmed around, can't seem to find it. For the sake of established numbers, let's stick to the 2930lbs weight already released some time ago.

While it might be lighter than that now, I think better to stick with what we know

So now on the "official" features and specs the curb weight is STILL missing?! What are they afraid of? How hard is it to weigh the damn car?

I think the omission of the weight from the spec indicated that Mazda has not finalize the production model. They're probably trying their best to bring it down below 3000 lbs. Give them time.

Bad news

****UNOFFICIAL INFO****

Well, I was told a number today, that is totally unofficial, since the final design isn't finalized yet. The number was 1375 kg. That's about 25 lbs over 3000. I don't know if that was for the Auto or the manual (the conversation was about the automatic, however, so keep that in mind before posting and whining like a baby)

Also, note that the number was "rounded" to 1375... meaning it isn't final

Again, please don't post and whine like a baby, hold your horses and wait for the final numbers from Car And Driver.

I am actually quite shocked (and dissappointed) that we haven't recieved curb weight and horsepower figures. I thought this was the "Final Production Model." I was expecting estimated performance figures and even fuel economy estimates as well. Isn't production going to start pretty soon for the car to be delivered in late May/June?

The pricing is very encouraging. I would get off cheap with just the Sport Package (no need for leather), but my budget allows me to go 32-35K, so I'm hoping they didn't sacrifice some performance for the lower price. BTW..when is the Xmen movie coming out (summer 03??), if so I could see a bunch of people pushing the price up cause "we have to have the Xmen car."

Anyhow, I'm going to be hard pressed to put a deposit (especially a non-refundable one) down without these critical specs (let alone a real review and a personal road test).

For what its worth, I hope Rotarynews.com's hot scoop is dead wrong!

The wait goes on....

Keep in mind the auto needs a torque converter, and that will add the weight onto the car. I think that's where that # will come from. The high power model will definately be lighter than the standard power model.

Why would we have to wait for C&D to weight it? Japan doesn't have scales?
